Its not that people want to live forever. Its that most people want to look young forever. There's a difference.

Elixir of Youth = Adrenochrome!!! Adrenochrome is supposedly highly addictive and its effects temporary!!! You need doses every month, or even every week!!!

This movie is genius, because it uses comedy to show one of the most important things to remember; a moment of happiness is worth more than eternity. Give love, and people will remember you for that. In his way, Ernest ended up being way more immortal than Helen and Madeline. Immortality is preserved through legacy.

Even though Ernest was a terrible and selfish person in the beginning of the movie, I’m glad that he changed for the better and turned his life around. He lived a happy and fulfilling life with his new wife and his kids.

I don't agree with the priest one bit that you live forever in the hearts of his friends and children. Because memory is fleeting and even his friends aren't immortal sooner or later he'll be forgotten. Helen and Madeline are actually in a better position sure they're not happy right now but they will find happiness eventually and they definitely can't hate each other forever. Plus better to live forever than to end up in nothingness.

This was one of my favorite scenes in this movie. ♥ I laughed when Larry was pranked on the internet by Dan, who was pretending to be a woman. When Larry talked about it to Anna, he mentioned that he became AROUSED. 💋😍

I always admire the way Jude Law is not afraid to play himself down a bit and let another actor steal the show. That's what I feel Clive Owen did with this film. He played the Jude Law character in the stage play so I think he had fun being the rough and common Larry.

Larry is not so ''common'' afterall. He IS smart. He returned Anna, had sex with Alice, understood both of them and had his revenge on Dan

No one said Ernest was one. Granted he was a POS to both Helen and Madeline throughout their lives. Ernest paid for his sins during his 14 year marriage to Madeline. He lost his job as a plastic surgeon, got reduced to being a reconstructive mortician and on top of it, was also abused mentally and emotionally by her. Ernest regretted how he treated Helen and realized how right she was about Madeline. Plus, he also concluded that they were just using him for their own selfish gain. Hence, Ernest left both Helen and Madeline right away and got his life back in order.
