At 8.11 and 8.35 when you had the opportunity to chii the 123, what was the reasoning to skip that? If you call the 123p, then you'll be left with 44p and 56p with an open wait. Isn't it more flexible to have two pairs (44p, 33s) and be able to pon/chii either of them instead of leaving yourself with only the 33s? Sorry for the newb question, I just started playing a few days ago :) Love your vids!

This is a great question! Honestly looking back at it I don’t have a great answer, because leaving myself a pair of the 4 of circles does seem nice in a pair-less hand. This is genuinely a great question for the discord because I think we’d have to dive into tile efficiency and a lot of players would be better suited to give a definitive answer of what’s better!

na, shanpon only gets the fu from completing the triplet so just a bog standard pinfu-like hand. don't even really need to count it, you just don't get good fu values unless you pon or kan terminals/honors. So you weren't going to get an easy win off that with tanyao dora. even if you chose to pon instead of ron to get more fu, it still wouldn't have been enough. Looking at your discards the last game, something that I missed without typing this comment was the 678 shanshoku possibility for a 3han win. But this is mostly just hindsight talking and I didn't look too hard if it was even really possible. Edit: Actually yeah. you chi'd the 4s too early and locked into a cheaper+faster possibility

HE IS STARTING TO BELIEVE Now thats the kind of shit i like to see, good job yung, reject safety embrace horrible waits, thats the true spirit of mahjong, in fact just for added spice you wait on furiten, assert dominance, you need to show them this is your table and you are just allowing them to play with you (i literally had a game like that, most hype comeback i experienced and i barely been playing for month, also posted on reddit because else it didnt happen /s lol)

The steam version is great because it has the yakuman animations like mobile does! At least when I was playing more towards the end of last year, the browser version didn't have the animations.

I think I have to watch less of your videos, yu song. I've noticed after watching your stuff on a daily basis for a while I am now dealing in way less, but whenever I sit in the dealer sit my opponents are getting hanemans and baimans non-stop and I'm losing without ever dealing in

I started playing mahjong not long ago, today I played my first ranked and won (after playing a lot of games with bots lol). You're so entertaining to watch and I feel like I'm learning much better that way.
