  Season 3 of this series started to give recognition to one Family Guy veteran in Alex Borstein. In other words, Lois does know about MadTV before, but does Peter, Stewie, Brian, Meg, or Chris watch it too?

  To me both In Living Color and Mad TV were loads funnier and edgier than SNL and yet the front office at Fox somehow found a way to sabotage both shows. Absolutely unbelievable! It's a real shame because Mad TV could have run forever on Sat night just like SNL. Mad TV is a show that just screams to be revived in today's humorless and often very angry era. Taking a moment to laugh at ourselves as a society is just what we need.

  the first season with no members from the original cast. debra wilson left after season 8 and she was the last remaining member of the oringinal mad tv cast when the show premiered in 1995 to be on the show.

  the first intro is hands down the best. I never noticed until watching them all that the mad magazine references slowly disappear with each season. Imagine being called madTV based off a magazine and stop making any references to it.

  0:14, Michael McDonald lasted the longest on MADTV for a total of 10 seasons (4-13). He is the king of the show!

  Saturday night, go to a 7pm movie, leave out sometime after 9pm. Go home, turn the tv on, and still have about 10 to 15 mins left of the news and then...MADTV!

  Yeah, they basically threw out what little they had from the magazine. Mad TV really needed more from the magazine like the Spy vs Spy shorts in the early seasons. They should have added more from the magazine in later seasons rather than taking away.

  This was before the digital antenna was invented. I remember watching this either on Sunday nights or weeknights on FOX 54. This theme song has been edged into my brain ever since. You gotta miss the 90s sitcoms or what I like to call these Skitcoms. Watching this has brought up my childhood memories

  This show was solid through 2/3rds of its run easily and beat SNL in the ratings for years. Then they went through this period where they tried to copy SNL, which was unfortunate and pretty odd.

  9:38 The Beginning of the End. The show was beginning to decline and they thought changing the format to SNL style was going to save it but by then a lot of the OG's were leaving because of other ventures, salaries, or budget cuts. I was really emotional when McDonald announced his departure and gave his goodbye at the end of his last season on the show especially since he was the TRUE last OG and was on the show the longest. Truly back in the day.

  3:59 When the title designers started using cast stand user character intros with live audience hype, it elevated this show to art. We only got to see Alex’s Ms. Swan stand for one season, but what a beautiful season it was! But the prime universe got to see the Swan vs. Vancome Lady sketch… Swan: “You need to act a like a woman.”
