how much was it to rebuild the block at machine shop
@Adamdub612 good question. At the time the cost was $1250 for a reman 350 with a $400 core charge for the old long block. So, like $1650 for an OEM long block out the door without a core to turn in.
Good job brother. I know it sucks to have to do it more than once but I'm happy you finally went under the pipes. It helps for longevity and it also looks a bit cleaner in the end 👌 the only thing that I would add is make sure none of your wires are touching the firewall, or anywhere else that they can rub. The motor does flex on the motor mounts and if the wires are touching anything the vibration and flex will eventually chaf the wire and it will ground out before the plug.
@ogt92fromthe1step9 thanks dude! I've never ran them like that before. And I'm happy that I did it's working so far. Thanks for all the help and knowledge you are sharing. I really appreciate it. Thanks for watching.✊🏾✊🏾
@@WorkingwithBobby no problem brother. You don't know what you don't know man. We're all constantly learning brother 🤟
Just wanted to say what up Bobby 😉 Just here for the support 💪
@ogt92fromthe1step9 what's up dude! Thank you! Did you enjoy the video?
@@WorkingwithBobby yeah brother. Just trying to be humble lol you asked who mentioned the wiring. I just wanted to say hello lol
@ogt92fromthe1step9 and thank you for sharing that information! I also put some convoluted tubing on one of the spark plug wires when my son and I was done there earlier changing the oil. I remember you saying sometimes the engine block sharp edges may chaff the wires.
@@WorkingwithBobby good stuff brother! Meanwhile I'm on the YouLube trying to learn how to tune my MSD LS box. We are all learning brother 🤟
@ogt92fromthe1step9 yes sir! Everyday. I hope you get it figured out.✊🏾✊🏾

@marktaber9129 thank you so much man! I appreciate you! I enjoy posting the updates too! Hopefully, it will motivate someone that's ready to give up!✊🏾✊🏾
Howd you get it passed the starter?
@Yxng_obs I fought hard to get that side on! Ended up feeding the header in from the bottom after modifying on of the primary tubes. Only to find out later, my engine mounts were shot. Don't let that happen to you dude!
Sounds good son ❤😃
@debbiejackson-garvin6305 thanks momma!
Did the same thing
@monk4786 are you asking if I did the same thing or are you saying I did the same thing?
I meant to save I burned up wires just like that
@monk4786 oh OK? Did you have any issues after your routed yours different? I don't want have to keep replacing wires every other month!😁😁
@@WorkingwithBobby not yet but i like the fiberglass boot idea might have to get some of those
@monk4786 they cheap from Amazon.com. I know there are better ones out there but, I can afford to put the extra money in them. I hope it works out for you too!
Nice job brutha man!👍🏻
@jamesphipps4273 thanks man! I appreciate it.✊🏾✊🏾
I use the heat resistant header wrap stuff and I haven't burned any plug wires since I did that. Also it keeps the temperature down under the hood. My headers are usually glowing red hot when I'm done with burnouts.
@@thehulkamaniabrother2.089 I might try some of that header wrap one day. Is it hard to install if the headers are already on ?
Reasons I’m about to buy Holley manifolds instead of headers
@roughneck2204 I understand how you feel. You can still get headers. You just need to route your spark plug wires correctly to prevent this f4om happening. I'm gonna correct the issue and you'll see how great it is when I post the update video. Stay tuned!✊🏾✊🏾
@@WorkingwithBobby I was going to go the header route on my 96. Between finding ones that work on a k1500, spark plug wires, and apparently header warping. I stumbled on the manifolds from Holley. Not a bad price, more flow, stock look, and function. I hope those headers work out. What size exhaust are you running? I’m doing the whole exhaust, when I get them. I haven’t found any definitive information on what size to run. I’ve seen some 2.5-3.5 in. I was thinking of landing on 3 for additional power with a rebuild.
@roughneck2204 I understand. Long tube's don't fit K series trucks well but, there are some options out there. I would try either shorty headers or mid length headers. Header wrap does work but, my next video will have the answer for what happened in this one. I would go with 3 in pipe. I have 2.5 now and am planning to upgrade this year.
Built it on a budget old school way
@davidowens1913 yes sir! Hopefully the budget will loosen up but, it's almost August so, school shopping is about to do me real bad.🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
I'm buying long tube headers for my 1991. Thanks for the advice!
@lurimo2010 no problem! Glad to help! ✊🏾✊🏾
What’s the part number? I know you say it in the video, I can’t find it again.

2:36 how can I remove this frame i tired to remove but i thought I will break it, if you have a video to see me how i will be grateful
@qqus if you're referring to the trim that's around the radio, there's a phillips screw in the middle at an angle either at the top side of that trim. The rest is clips holding it in. This car didn't have that so, I couldn't show it.
Getting the job done no matter what. Love the problem solving brother! God bless you and your family 🙏
@marktaber9129 yes sir! Tha k you so much! Without God, I am nothing. Blessing you and your family as well!✊🏾✊🏾
Good stuff Bobby! Keep up the great work. Those P.S. lines can be a PIA. Just had a fight with my old lines coming from the gearbox. The line was froze to the fitting, but a lot of heat and a lot of lube go a long way 😂. Anyways got the old lines connected to the new LS P.S. pump in the old c25hundi 👌

My scooter has water pump and weep hole it has moisture of coolant, after using my scooter ,is it failing?
@changi8754 I'm not familiar with scooters but, if the water pump is designed in a similar way, that maybe a sign of the internal shaft seal leaking. I'd get it replaced soon.
I’m having a hard time installing my passenger side it’s hitting the frame and floor board of the truck, any idea what it is?
I had issues with mine making contact with the upper control arm mount but, found out later my engine mounts were shot. Do you have them installed and they hit or are they hitting while trying to install?
@@WorkingwithBobby hitting while I’m trying to install
@johnsepulveda650 they will do that going in until you get them at the right angle to fully install. That passenger side beat me up real bad man. I hope you get them installed. It will be worth it when you do! You may have to install that side from the bottom. I can't remember which way I did mine.
@@WorkingwithBobby this advice helped me, gonna replace the mounts then take it from there! I appreciate it 🙏🏽
@johnsepulveda650 awesome man! I am happy I was able to help. I fought with mines so much I started to give up and sell the truck!😆😆 once I figured out the broken motor mounts caused all that, I replaced them immediately! Good job man!✊🏾✊🏾
Good job son enjoy the video 😊❤️
Thanks momma!
Take it back and warranty it Bobby. Mine fits perfect on my obs PS pump. That's the best thing about hobo freight, cheap crappy tools but they warranty them.
That hose clamp method is cheaper than me driving to harbor freight about a $20 puller kit. I'm good.

Maybe so but, it got the job done once I put that hose clamp around it. Popped it right off!
Good for you !
Thank you so much! I can't afford to do what I want with my truck so, I have to find joy in the little things. Either way, I am grateful. ✊🏾✊🏾

Nope, I really did use a hose clamp to hold those two pieces together and pulled the pulley off of the pump shaft. The coupler that comes with the tool kit is too loose. Had to figure out a better way.
You don't need all that.
I did and it worked for me based on what I had access to. You know a better way of getting the pulley off with "less"?
How much did he pay the engine guy
I believe it was $2500 to rebuild the engine with the cam upgrade and AFM/DOD delete. Plus, tune it when I got it back in and running. He got that upfront, but God sees all and will restore all he and I lost. It is what it is.✊🏾✊🏾
@WorkingwithBobby yea, that's not to bad but bussnies wise he was wrong , he just don't know if he would have did what he had to do you definitely was trying to put him on on with your following
So 350 or 305???

Hell yeah! we in the same boat. Looks like where I'll start. I've been trying for years and just don't know what to get. I have a bone stock 91 all mechanical 5.7 sb. Because of it being all mechanical I had to put a Holley Red fuel pump, Holley 650 with vacuum secondaries, hei distributor and headers. Still running t 700r transmission and stock torque converter. It's a 91 Silverado single cab swb 4x4 but the engine came out of a 89 Cadillac DeVille. Can what you've done work for me and if so can you give me a list of what you brought. I'm also a single income provider for my family of 4 so being broke is definitely where I stand but, from time to time I get caught up and have a little money to throw at my truck so any thing you can share would be greatly appreciated. Good job on your ride maybe one day I'll tag you if I can get mine to that point. God bless
I completely understand man. I added a parts list in the description of this video just for you guys that need it to start with their own builds. I hope it helps!✊🏾✊🏾
Great video!
I appreciate it!
2 bolt mean is ok for 500 hp,great video.
Thanks man. If the block wasn't cracked near the deck on both sides, I probably would've built a strong little motor. Had to junk it after that.
Wait u r checking y the windows won’t work? What? Got Damn!
Good question. This customer had a strange issue going on with his car. I had to check his power window circuits with a schematic from Nissan but, his car was filled with used junkyard parts that did not play well together. Typically you don't have to removed the door but, I had to replace the harness that runs through the lower A-pillar into the driver door. It was crazy dude!
Them boots work pretty good for what they are i put them on my 92 454 you know how them big blocks get crazy hot !!
That's great! I love it when I do a video and it helps someone else! And yes, that's a lot of engine under there!
Wow if you have to put that on there the problem not fixed, I've been there
Exactly!
Dude that's a crappy situation. Sounds like they either left the barbell out the o ring off the pickup tube. Then they don't even give you all the parts back that's bull man. Sorry brother keep your head up and keep doing what you do 💪
I know but, I gotta put put the bad as well as sharing the good. It is what it is. Everybody not gonna try to do the right thing. Don't worry, he getting it built right this time!💪🏾💪🏾
Tough lesson to learn but either the builder or yourself should have pressure primed that engine instead of cranking it over to do it.
Yep. I don't know what the builder did and we had no way of proving it. That's why I put this video out there. These days, you gotta almost know just as much as who you're paying to provide a service since most don't stand on their word anymore. I don't have a way to pressure prime an LS. I do the Gen 1 sbc with an old distributor without the gear and a drill.
@@WorkingwithBobby A cheap pressurized weed sprayer from hobo freight works well. You tap into the oil pump port at the driver front of the block by unscrewing the pipe plug and threading in a quarter inch hose barb fitting. Cost me about 20 bucks to build my own.
@@ogt92fromthe1step9 that's a great idea! I'm have to try that. Thanks for sharing!✊🏾✊🏾
