Hey everyone, my name is Zachary Kenney. I'm a full time engineer aspiring to be an adventure filmmaker/photographer. Like a lot of you, I took a corporate job after I graduated college, 8 to 5, and far from the mountains. Shortly after I got the job, I discovered mountains, and the rest.. well that's history. I found myself driving hours and hours every weekend to spend more and more time climbing, biking, making films, and shooting photos in the mountains. My obsession for creating videos started back in college on my old GoPro Hero2. It was then, I realized, that I had a passion for telling a story through videos to inspire people to get out and live a life to the fullest. Most of my videos now feature adventures during my traveling and outdoor activities.
I currently live in the epic state of Utah! Hope you enjoy the adventures!

What month did y’all go hiking???😮
Loose PFDs. Poorly adjusted oar rights and NO oar keepers. Barely secured gear. Didn't see a single throw bag. . . dilettantes. Lucky dilletantes 🙄
how do you find if the whole chain is rusty? in they all look the same
If they all look like the same type of link, there is a chance your chain does not have a power link to remove the chain. You’ll have to get a chain tool to remove a link. Those tools will push out one of the pins from a link. Sorry, I don’t have a hack for that just yet.
We hiked the west side last weekend too for the first time. Amazing views of the southern Presidentials, then when you get high enough the northern Presidentials are visible. Amazing. Then you see the old familiar Wildcat on the east side down below you, that I’m used to seeing from the Tuckerman Ravine trail. I love Mount Washington.
Thank You!
this would even better if there had been night dive
I couldn’t agree more! Some people did do a night dive on the first night. But I wasn’t certified for it at the time so I never asked about it.
This looks fantastic. I'm finishing my OW cert this weekend. I'm hoping to be able to do a liveboard in a few years. What do you think the average experience level was?
It was such a blast! The average level was all over the place. Half the group had 100+ dives, while the other half was finishing their OW. So it was accommodating to everyone.
my chains rusted
Put on your PFDs! 🛟
It’s flatwater!
Way too expensive for what is a tent
I agree if you’re looking at it from that way. But if you are in need of a truck shell, that’s a huge part of it. For us it worked, we were camping 30-50 nights outside a year, so this made things so much easier. Definitely a waste if you’re only heading out a few nights a year.
i think the yellow pufferfish is a boxfish :)
Heck yeah man! Great accomplishment with the weather turning as well. I'll be there this year, see you out there if you found the motivation (read: insanity) to go for this again!
Cheers man! Best of luck this year! Sadly won't be there this year, pointing my training to race in the Downieville Weekend
@@ZacharyKenney8 hey thanks man, you as well!
Thank you so much for making me aware of Morro Bay. I had never heard of it before I saw this video.
Your wife cheated on you what are you talking about?
Thank you, this was the only thing that worked for me.
Yoo nice video just found this channel keep up the awesome work, I will be tuning in into All the videos
Do all chains have a power link? Because my child's bike doesn't seem to have one, I'm trying to take one link off so it stops falling off the bike
Sadly no. A lot of kids bikes and bikes from Walmart do not. You’ll need to get a chain link removal tool to do the job you’re looking for. Then add a new power link after you shorten it. It’s a simple tool, a lot of multi-bike-tools have them. But I haven’t found a solution to do that without that tool. Best of luck
Good job bro!! 👏
Thanks 🔥
Are you supposed to let the wax cool to room temperature before scraping?
In my experience the wax cools very quickly, so I don’t do any extra wait time. But yeah, definitely don’t scrape it off right away if it’s still hot.
Plu-eeze. I lived there for a few years. Nothing but white separatists, white supremacists, Mormons, gun nuts and Ammon Bundy types Don't go. There are a few scenic areas but most of the state is covered with sagebrush and is a waste of time unless you are a potato farmer.
😂 that’s a hilarious take on an entire state
Thank you! You saved me 10 bucks (by me not buying the tool for it) :D
My husband and I are taking a anniversary trip at the end of April. He is certified, but unfortunately I am not. I have been on multiple dives, but it’s only within certain depth due to not being certified. What depths were these? I am also trying to figure out what Tahiti’s regulations are in every country. We scuba diving they have different rules as far as how deep un certified divers can go.
The depths of these were around 40-60ft if I remember without checking my dive log. I think both of the dive operators checked our certification cards before we dove, so not sure if there are other options. Best of luck. Happy ANNIVERSARY!
Great video, did the same just this week
This will be my first time doing this process to my board. Thank you
Great video. Real easy to follow and understand. No gum stone I noticed you don’t use on your edges eh.
I live it Utah, sharpening edges is uncommon to begin with 😂
Very lucky. Out in Canada. Need those sharp edges on the east coast. Would love powder though.
@Figgles274 I couldn’t agree more. I cut my teeth up in New England and feel your pain.
Hi, how to book? Could you plz share some booking info

Utah is a nice place to have a van. Summers aren't as hot as Florida where AC will KILL batteries. What solar panels did you pick? I'm looking at Rich Solar 200W
I couldn't agree more! We lucked out heading to Florida this past January and still felt like we could've used AC some nights. I went with Newpowa 9BB Cell 200W Monocrystalline. So far so great! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VBL7XKV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
Does the edges have to be really sharp? Like can cut your fingers sharp?
Depends on where you’re skiing. East coast ice, then yes, cut your finger nail sharp. Mountain west, sharpen every three years.
Nice. Thanks, great technique
Was the thumbnail for this video just click bait to get guys to watch it?
Did it work?
@@ZacharyKenney8 I watched it.
Great tutorial! I'm trying to be the good Dad and figure these things out for my daughter. Happy to see Will Forte making snowboarding Tutorials!
Don’t know if you’ve looked at other vids too, ik different vids show different things but what I’ve learned from vids and experience from shops is tune the edges before you wax, then use the crayoning method to apply the wax instead of the drip method, and something I noticed a lot of people don’t mention is taking off the bindings, taken them off will one save you from having to cover them or just being careful not to get wax on them, two it’ll give a more flat place to rest the board, and three the screws pull the board so you just get a more even coat
Thanks for the tip! I have to rewax the board a bit. My daughter took it out after my first time waxing the board and said it was way to too fast. Think I need to remove some more wax haha @@jordanmorrow4757
did you guys do lagoon dive?
We did not, we only dove outside of the reef on both days.
Thank you.
What month did you climb? My buddy and I are trying to climb it this September 11th
We climbed it in July! September can be a great time to climb, usually pretty dry and still warm. Like any high alpine fun, you do run into separate risks. The later you go, the less likely there will be flowing water on the trail to refill (not the end of the world). But the worst thing that can happen is the early season snowfall. Leaves a snow up there too little for ice axes and crampons, but too much for comfortable climbing with just boots. Bit me on a trip in 2021.
Thank you for the insight!
what a crazy video hahah
Great video ! I think you forgot to put "enough" in the description - this does not sound right LOL "I can't recommend a liveaboard dive-boat experience!"
Good call! Hahah just fixed it
Dutch would love this
What scuba certification did you need for this?
Just an open water cert is required! But some people were getting their certification while they were on the boat! 2 birds one stone!
@@ZacharyKenney8the basic, initial Open Water certification allows you to dive 90 feet deep? For some reason I thought the limit was 60 feet, without further courses.
I couldn’t agree more, I was under the same impression… welcome to diving in Southeast Asia. They knew I didn’t have an advanced open water cert and they didn’t care. My wife (dive buddy) does, so at least there’s that. But yeah, I don’t want to say there wasn’t a big difference, but as long as you have a dive computer to ensure you’re safety stops are long enough, it was a normal dive for us.
@@ZacharyKenney8 I see. Nitrogen narcosis affects different people differently at different depths, but it tends set in at 100 feet. Since it impairs your judgement kind of like being drunk and can even cause unconsciousness, it is very important to be aware of and trained for, as the deep diving specialty does. It is quite dangerous (for YOU!!, not them) that they allow a diver with only the basic open water cert to dive to even 90 feet, because the diver may not have the buoyancy control to avoid going just a bit deeper and getting narc’d. Or even with control, you may venture that bit deeper not knowing the risk and initial symptoms to be aware of. Glad you had fun and were ok. For all divers, DON’T TRUST THE LENIENCY OF DIVE SHOPS. It is up to you to know the limits of your training and experience. Check out the dry suit diver in Montana who died during training. She unfortunately had faith in an inexperienced training team.
Everyone knows edges first, then wax. There's nothing like someone doing a tutorial who doesn't even know the proper order of things.🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I was at Grand Teton last September. Amazing. I want to climb this!
I cannot recommend it enough! Still one of the most incredible days in the mountains I’ve ever had!
No base cleaner first?
That’s probably a good idea! I’ll have to start implementing it.
When your board is waxed and brushed… if you rub your fingers on the board is it suppose to make like a squeaking sound? I don’t know if I scrubbed to hard or not.
In my experience, keep scraping until no more wax comes off. Push hard! The wax you care about is what’s left in the pores of the board.
Why not take a common hardware glove? End, attach a vacuum holes to the back of the glove so that well your scraping all of the excess wax off your board. The vacuum is sucking it up at the same time!
thanks bro, will do this for this years season. greetings from austria
dope vid bud we had an incredible experience on this route as well we got lost af and thought we were gonna die.
Damn! I can definitely see how that could happen! How long were you guys out there for?
it seemed like an eternity i dont know. we got lost trying to find trail from the boulder field@@ZacharyKenney8
Hi,gretings especialy to Clint Cook.I'm Arles from Bolivia .18 years ego i workerd with my Dad Mario Clemenre like cook in Bolivia❤❤❤
I feel your pain. I went too far right last season only there were no signs. And they were wide open hardwoods with untracked pow. I hitchhiked back ha ha. I wouldn’t intentionally do it again, but it was worth it!
How would you get a 70 lb dog up there?
Two options: 1. to get our 60lb dog up into the tent, I would stand on the tailgate, have him jump up to meet me, then pick him up and put him in the tent. 2. Because the floor of the tent is modular, you could build "steps" inside the back of your truck allowing your dog to climb up them and through hole in the floor. We did this for a bit, but then he kept scratching our coolers with his nails, so admittedly it didn't last long.
Right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right right
Awesome video! I am thinking about getting my scuba certification soon 👍
