Lance Klessig Regenerative Agriculture Advocate

Lance Klessig Regenerative Agriculture Advocate

🌾 👨‍🌾 I'm a big believer and promoter of Regenerative Agriculture & the Soil Health principles. I've been blessed to work all across much of the US and see many farms and ranches that are not only sustainable, but also regenerative. 🌻 🌱

Modern day production agriculture is changing in some very large ways as growers learn to focus on profitability and ROI. Often times, our biggest enemy is between our own 2 ears and what we tell ourselves & accept as "normal".

My Channel is here to share success stories from across the US where landowners, farmers, ranchers and the like are once again farming in sync with nature instead of fighting it.

➡️ To continue the soil health & regenerative farming discussion, please feel free to reach out to me directly at [email protected].
➡️ Technical assistance in designing cover crop mixes, direct marketing, incorporating livestock, and hosting educational field days & workshops is available if interested.

Thanks - Lance Klessig 👨‍🌾 🌻 🌽

    When he says "roll it down into a cash crop" does he mean combining it? I've only ever knocked triticale down for hay

    Yes I believe he was referencing combining. I'm recalling that in some years I believe he has to swat it first before combining because of the vetch. Thanks

    Thanks for the knowledge sharing Lance! Will this annual ryegrass help prevent weeds such as crabgrass and other broadleaf weeds? I have a hillside and it's easy to grow annual ryegrass. But hard to grow fine fescue. So I keep sowing fine fescue and annual ryegrass at the same time. Dealing with a lot of weeds this year though. Hoping for less weeds next year.

    Thanks for the video! Have you ever considered trying to cross a Berkshire sow with a Kunekune boar? Seems like if it was successful it would interesting - maybe the offspring will roto-till a little less aggresively, and maybe exist on forage better? I've never really heard of it being done - perhaps there is a reason?

    @@lanceklessigregenerativeag7901 Understood - thanks for your reply. If I can ask - what drawbacks do you personally find with the Kunes? Everone has different thoughts, based on many reasons. I'm new to regenerative agriculture, and was going to try both Berkshires and Kuneskunes over time. I was going to start with the Berkshires first - for the same land regenerative effects you talk about in this video. Not sure which breed I'll stay with for the long term though. You have a great channel here, and I've also learned a lot from the visits and interviews you've done. Thanks again for the great channel - it's much appreciated.

    Amazing diet ? As a diary farmer.....my cows would go dry on eating this forage ! So.......a stock cow produces milk for her calf ? This dont even make good dry cow feed ! Why allow the grass to get so mature...? Mow it ...or cut for hay..... far more productive both ways.....for feed use and for new re-growth for the cattle. Besides.... if left mature the grass no longer grows....sits idle. Thats being productive ?

  • @jerrylansbury9558
    @jerrylansbury955811 ай бұрын

    Oh my..... Mr. Glyphosate ( Greg Judy ) Your going to go broke !!!! He has many ways a person can go broke ! For sure ! Soon he wont have any neighbors.....they will all be broke ! Leaving Mr. Glyphosate more land for grazing !!

  • @jerrylansbury9558
    @jerrylansbury955811 ай бұрын

    100 % correct !!!! When Mr. Glyphosate ( Greg Judy ) says he's fertilizing his pastures with cow patties hes only fertilizing a " tiny " areas ! Making it meaningless ! And in no way a cow patty is worth 1.00 dollar ! Or even a dime ! The cow patties are spread far and wide....like the demo of spreading fertilizer with that bottle. On the other hand... spreading fertilizer 80-80- 100 - 30 twice a year will more then double your grass yield in that year ( depending on rain ) ! The cost...is another topic. Chemical fertilizers also enhance worm activity because of the heavy crop of grass produced ! Been rotational grazing for 45 years......since the Blitzer click electric fencer......or the steady buss " Bumble Bee " fencer. Tried almost everything. In a dairy operation fertilizing fields pay hands down ! But for some reason stock cow farmers dont quite understand this..... more """"" QUALITY """" grass the more milk production....thus more weight gain on calves / cows . Instead stock cow farmer expect the cows to eat manure latent pastures. Try that with milk cows. As Mr. Glyphosate often says... you will go broke ! For once hes right !!!!!
