  It is very lengthy process just put the strainer on flame for few minutes and clean it directly with any detergent .just now I had made this experiment.

  I have some like this and need to clean them after using, cobwebs are especially difficult to remove, wet or dry. I used dish soap on mine and it is still drying after 3 days! I think the washing soda will do the trick. Thanks for the idea.

  There is a much simpler and less messy way. Simply put it over stove burner flame for 30 seconds and then wash.
