He's using "today's technology" That's a $100k Synclavier he's playing. nothing that has came since is better. The only reason this sounds lofi is the tape source. good video. Also, synclavier is available today from Arturia and a couple others.

I think a big part of the reason why analog sounded so good is that it isn’t perfect like all the new instrument is Pitch Perfect but all this old stuff drifted. Make the new stuff drift.
