The movie theatre near me has 4D movies, but they are pretty intense as I had actually gotten dizzy from them. This is in Australia though. I don’t recall seeing 4D movies outside of theme parks in USA.

It's a chain called 4DX and I only saw one in person when my family visited Nashville, Tennessee and the Regal Cinemas inside an Opry Mills mall had one. I think the people at 4DX determine how the wind, motion, fog, and water effects react to the on-screen action rather than the studios and I heard that Disney is the only exception. Very interesting topic!

@@benszone1879 yeah, I have normally only gone to AMC and century theatres back when I used to live there. One thing I will miss is the free refills for drinks and the 3 free movies a week for just 29 usd a month, but the cheaper food prices with the tax included in Sydney along with the lack of needing to tip if eating the food inside the restaurant makes up for it. Plus, they give you an entire jug full of tap water for you to help yourself to instead of having to call your specific server to get it for you, which was always annoying when having to pay the bill. I don’t really care for the free refills at restaurants cause I can always buy a better drink elsewhere.

FYI: Sound mode - I forgot to check the in-game audio settings for RDR2 and it turns out that the setup mode was set to 'TV' which limits the sound stage and range of the audio to fit the hardware of most TV speakers. There is a 'Stereo' mode which expands the range and sound stage to better fit dedicated stereo systems. Dolby Atmos support- I'd like to point out that RDR2 is apparently not a native Dolby Atmos title? I could be mistaken.

Good question! I have not experienced the Big D, but the differences between the new Dolby Atmos theater at Royal Cinemas and the GTX lie in their theater designs as GTX utilizes Dolby Atmos as their sound system. Both theaters are big and comfy with recliners (GTX allows you to recline the leg and the back separately unlike Royal Cinemas). The Dolby Atmos at RC used to be an IMAX so the screen is pretty huge (between a lieMAX and a 'true' IMAX I guess) while the GTX screen is only relatively larger than standard (60 feet I think). I don't know about the specs of the projectors at both theaters, but they're both pretty much average (GTX certainly had somewhat better quality). Both good theaters, but I'd recommend RC because of the giant screen, reliable customer service, and great food from inside Pooler Grille. Thanks for watching!

The reason Uncharted doesn't look as good is probably because it's a digital film being projected onto a screen that was clearly built for genuine 15/70mm IMAX. This screen, given the size and the aspect ratio, must have been made for 70mm, even if it is rarely used anymore. Unfortunately, 70mm IMAX screens are now used mostly for digital laser projectors, but they should still have the 70mm projector on standby. When you do get the chance to see a film in genuine 15/70mm IMAX, nothing compares. It is the highest quality image format ever made. Digital doesn't even come close.

It's is indeed a really nice theater and frankly, feels more complete in terms of interior design, but Royal Cinemas is certainly a better theater as customer service rivals or out performs Pooler Cinemas and having a dedicated Pooler Grille to eat in or to eat in your theater is just great! Also, GTX (Grand Theater Experience) uses Dolby Atmos technology and has somewhat better projector tech from what I understand (picture quality was good but I didn't really see much of a difference unlike the sound quality as it was immersive as advertised). There is now a Dolby Atmos theater at RC and of course you have the world's tallest IMAX. Royal Cinemas is definitely more enjoyable, but you can still get good food, customer service, and have similar reclining seats like RC, so it depends on your budget I guess if you're local, but if you're traveling, RC is the way to go.

If this is the biggest IMAX in the world, then it definitely has the capability of 70mm because that is the biggest format in the world. IMAX screens that are digital only, are much much smaller and have a wider aspect ratio.

Yeah sorry about the quality. I was never able to get the IMAX with the lights on because there were always customers coming soon so my managers didn't allow the lights to be on 😂. But when my schedule allows it, I'll see if I they will let me redo with the lights on. Thanks for commenting!

Why did your shoot in the dark? You could have requested them to put on some more lights. Your camera is bad for dark modes. We could hardly see anything in the auditorium. Could not even see the screen size properly. All we could see was darkness. You also need better editing.

Why did your shoot in the dark? You could have requested them to put on some more lights. Your camera is bad for dark modes. We could hardly see anything in the auditorium. Could not even see the screen size properly. All we could see was darkness. You also need better editing.
Yeah sorry about that! The low light performance wasn't as good as I thought! There was a showing that was about to start and I couldn't choose a better time unfortunately 😐
