Wow! There is a film of him in the Symphonic Etudes ! Never seen this ! He was a genius taught himself important things -don't know how its possible Godowsky too like Busoni was too .

The more I listen to Weissenberg, the more I fall under the spell of his enormous talent and extraordinary musical interpretation. I would like to reference another comment that I read about Weissenberg as "a pianist for a sophisticated listener" (wish I said it first). I remember listening to him at two live concerts in Sofia that I was lucky to get tickets. Remembering him seven years after his death, we should keep the memory of him and his artistry as fresh as are the memories of those two concerts. Thank you ororbia for uploading this clip.

Weissenberg was a prodigy of technique and feeling, made everything he played recognisable. No other had such "steely fingers", natural easiness to play and sensitivity. It is said he was not a pianist for everybody : don't know, but we, the ones who like him, like him as no one else. Fantastic, fabulous musician he was.
What a magnificent pianist. Thank God we have recordings. Bravo.

yeah, his technique is amazing, listen to his Rachmaninov sonata no. 2 just amazes me. but sadly, his style somehow is outdated by a newer generation pianists, who, ever since the immergence of Pollini and others in the 70s, completely redefine the piano playing as we are acclimated today, that is more precision and loyal to the score. but anyway he was a phenomenon. and this video is a real treasure

Magnifique témoignage. Merci à vous.
