what if the offset is combined with the rolling offset? all in one project? its easy to roll when you have your tee for stabilization but if the roll is above the initial 45 degree offset, it gets tricky. this what you did here is what we prepared for in class, not the reality I face now. they changed the test and its now a copper project which has a 45 degree offset followed with a roll, so you have to build it in 4 sections.

utah state exam should focus on actual plumbing skills not any of this useless crap. u hold up the tap measure and guess., add three quarters then dry fit, and a little to make up then cut some of the excess off. DUH

Does the 2 step still work if the pipes aren't squared with wall? Just measure from c to c and measure up from both rises, subtract the big number from smaller rise and use that for the actual rise, then square both numbers, add them and then sqaure root the number for offset, multiply that offset by 1.414, subtract 2 take offs for both fittings and then done?

Yes. Sounds like you have got it.

If pipes line up just measure over and multiply that number by 1.414 then subtract 2 take offs, even if the fitting is a 90 or tee eh just the take offs will be different?
