What is impressive is the fact that the sultan's sons-in-law are never seen sitting next to their wives alongside other members of the royal family. It's as if they didn't exist. We only see the daughters-in-law. To me it sounds like a certain kind of rudeness, of belittling. Sons-in-law are as familiar as daughters-in-law.
