What about mechanical speed-o's that do not use a VSS signal at all?
bowlertransmissions.com/collections/speedometer-gears-housings/products/bowler-mechanical-speedometer-adapter Check this out James...
@@BowlerPerformanceTransmissions Thanks for the reply. Here is the deal.: I have a GPS speed-o. I converted my Chevelle to a T56 long ago, back in 2001. Fast forward to today, it was time for a new engine and new transmission. I installed a new 540/ T-56F Magnum combo I bought your lock-out harness last week. The instructions all call for wiring in the VSS. That is cool this part is available, but I don't need that or see its value for my set-up. If I could get the solenoid out without removing my transmission, I would just modify the spring. Thanks in advance. JC
I have a 700 r4 transmission. I brought two TV cables and I did the adjustments the way you said. But the cable would never Is ratchet out on his own. Why would that happen on both TV cables?
you need a drill depth set kit
Excellent, thanks
Does it work for a chevy inline 6 250 with 2 barrel weber carb
Sorry it will not.
is this true shift system still available for sale? I want to put a 200R4 into my 64 Impala
I've been watching dozens of videos regarding adjusting the TV cable. This one actually made sense.
@3:05 the TV is not returning to the correct location. You MUST see all 6 rings on the TV when at Idle.
Sorry that doesn't work for us, but you do it your way. We will stick to what has been proven to work for years. Thanks!
My T56 that I've been into too many time had NO discernable in/out play on the input shaft. I set it up with dial indicators and wiggling crap back and forth to decide what shim to use. I had a single .046" shim in there and using this method I landed at a .057" shim stack. I never had any confidence in my previous method but this is foolproof as you cross the line both ways. Definitely how I'm going to set them up goong forward.
meanwhile the country is going to Shit......

@@BowlerPerformanceTransmissionsExcellent Reply!!
Do we subtract for the straight edge thickness since we’re dealing with thousands of an inch?? 🤔
Yes we recommend that you zero your calipers after the thickness of your straight edge.
SO THE GRARBOX IS ALREADY A SEQUENTAIL ... THE ADD ON S1 DOSENT CHANGE THE H-SHIFTER TO SEQUENTIAL IT ONLY MAKE IT EASY .. AM I RIGHT ?
This just converts the H pattern shifter to a sequential shifter. But the transmission is still a synchronized transmission and will require the use of the clutch, unless you convert the internals to a faceplates gear set.
Works like a charm 😌
Always been a buick man, like them better than merc,s. That engine took it over the top.wow
for $313 you can suck my balls wtf you guys r way to much
What’s your tranny worth??? $300 is nothing
Is this the factory stock gearbox
This is a stock Tremec Magnum Six Speed that we have added the S1 Shifter.
Can I use this on my tko 600?
No, there is not a TKO version at this time. Thanks!
What's the difference between a 4l70e and a 4l75e?
The Bowler 4L75E will have the Sonnax Smart Shell, Sonnax Smart Drum, Sonnax Super Hold 4th Gear Servo, Complete Sonnax HP valve body upgrades with pinless accumulators, Billet triple lock 285mm converter, along with a few additional Bowler exclusive upgrades to maximize the amount of torque handling. We rate our 4L75E for up to 600 lbs ft of torque.
nice to see something cool going on in my old hometown
Glad you enjoyed it
i will be doing a ford toploader this coming spring , switching it from a big block to a small block input shaft with a small parts kit install, the muncie i did first came out well on my 48 ford with a 350/ 383 stroker, toploader going in my 1950 ford f1 pickup
@@roadhog1956rda You should consider a TKX and be able to enjoy overdrive.
just as soon as my rich uncle gets out of the poor house ,,, lol,,,,, but i will give it a lot ov thought@@BowlerPerformanceTransmissions
nice, but at near $500, thats a lot of money
Thanks for your reply. Our tru-shift does retail for close to $300 but that is a lot cheaper than a new transmission and we are having a black Friday sale on our products and tru-shift will be included starting Thursday. You need to sign up for our newsletter
@@BowlerPerformanceTransmissions when you convert to aussie dollars and shipping, thats nearly $700 aud, thats a lot of money for some brackets and a cable, can get another trans for that
If you can buy a quality 700-4R for $314.00 please sign us up and ship us a container load of them, please. Here in the US the cores cost more than that and a quality transmission is $4300 +. Our products aren’t for everyone, but for the ones that understand the insurance is worth every bit of it.
Does it work with TH200C??
It only works on the 700r4 and 2004r transmissions
I love it, but I prefer FlowMaster mufflers. They sound the best and last forever.
A car this good-looking should have the original engine in it not some hot rod Chevy crap GJM
I guess if it was yours you could do that, but our customer wanted to be able to drive this across country with dependability and comfort. That is the great thing about hot rods we can build them how we want. Most don't judge and respect others....
How does the throttle linkage hook up
The same way it always would. Nothing changes there. Our bracket includes an upper bracket for your throttle cable.
@@BowlerPerformanceTransmissions kit came to day has lokar adapter this set up is the best I’ve ever seen thanks
Thank you, we appreciate your support!! @@kenschreiner6465
@@kenschreiner6465 Thanks for your trust in our products!
if unsure if your tv cable is adjusted properly, drop the pan. at wot your tv plunger should be all the way in. at idle, the lever should be touching or slightly pushing the plunger in. also make sure you’re getting wot at the pedal. if your pedal is on the floor but your plates can still be opened manually, you have to fix that first before you move to tv cable adjustment.
As long as you have the throttle ratio correctly setup, this would be a somewhat true statement, it is a little more technical than this. The difference in touching to slightly pushing the cable to the correct distance is the difference in a destroyed transmission or a properly setup transmission. We are kept plenty busy rebuilding 700-R4 transmissions due to everyone trying to fight the fight, we created this product to take away the stress and to offer a true solution to the problem.
I say this for people who are unsure about their tv cable geometry so they can understand what's going on before buying a tv corrector bracket. @@BowlerPerformanceTransmissions
I bought this for a 2012 Mustang Gt Magnum XL swap and I can’t get this to work. The reverse lockout works and my speedometer powers on and tach works, but the speedometer doesn’t register a speed. I tried adjusting the pulse count but I get nothing…. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions?
Please give us a call, we will just need to help guide you to change the pulse output. Thanks
hex head - allen is a brand not a type
We really appreciate your clarification. We sure hope that we didn't cause anyone confusion as we see that this really matters.....
What’s the cost to install one?
We plan about 2 hours for proper Installation. So if you have us install the shifter in your transmission plan on around $300 for the shifter install and $250 if you want it dyno tested plus any parts.
What happens if your trans doesn't have a bell housing? Like engine swaps with adapter plates, just hope for the best?
There is typically an option to still perform the check but it requires tear down of the transmission.
Car still running strong since i put this on a transmission i rebuilt myself. Do yall not sell this anymore???
We do. We are waiting on one part that is not in production. Looking for a solution. Thank you for your support
@@MissKitty04 what part? I work for a manufacturing company we do high precision metal turning
For $300 I'll make my own
Great!! Thank you for your support in our products!!!
Do you sell that set up ?? For the trans
It isn't nearly as simple as you have to use a pressure gauge however our correction arm setup with a lokar cable makes life easier for the AOD. Give us a call and we can help.
where do i buy this at?
You can normally purchase them from us, Summit, Motorstate, Dreamers, Classic Industries, but we are on a national backorder... Hopefully it will not be long
Will this work on a Holley Street Warrior P/N 0-80457S
Yes we have an kit for the Street Warrior.
I have your synchros in my T56M. 1st through 4th. 5 years, 60,000 miles, an ACT clutch disc, and 8 sets of tires! It still shifts as good as the day I got it. Thanks for the new front plate as well, it showed up crisp, clean and has functioned flawlessly.
I just finished installing my t56 magnum in my pickup, the transmission is quite noisy and shifter rattles at certain rpm’s also my shifter is 14’ or 16’ can’t remember at the moment but it is made out of billet aluminum. My question is will this eliminate the rattling and loud noise amplified by the shifter length?
Any idea when the Tru Shift kit will be back in stock? (For an edelbrock carb)
We actually do not know at this time. Hopefully soon We are waiting on a part from another manufacturer that has not given us any timeframes. Sorry we are doing our best...
i have a 2011 GT500 same process? i saw y’all had multiple t56 options
What if you can't get the button to push in
The button is very hard to push in... Keep trying maybe use a screwdriver or a blunt object. Good Luck
I'm new to this, I got a 700r4 cable that gets a little loose sometimes. My trans shifts too soon, and it never allows for RPM to build up when wide open throttle; makes for a lazy trans., Question... would this kit allow for shifting at later RPM's when getting on it, or is this a different issue? Thanks
This kit will help fix the concerns you have and will address the shift timing from light to wide open throttle.
How would this work on c6 z06 with t56?
Drop dead gorgeous
Thank you
I am on your site...I don't see a kit for the Rochester carburetor. Do you not sell this? MK
We do not. Sorry Thank you for your interest
Get a Street Demon.
Does summit carry this
Yes they do!!
We're can I find that puller ?
We can build you one. They are $6500.
Will this work on a 98 Camaro Z28 6 speed manual LS1 car?
Would pro shifting or faceplating allow shifting in the 8000 RPM range? Can you guys do it or should I send one to liberty?
The face plating will allow for a little higher RPM shifts and could be shifted without a clutch, but there are still limits due to the shift rail design. Liberty does a great job, we can also offer the same service.
I’ve seen a half dozen videos on the 700r4 cable adjustment and this is by far the best. A very clear explanation of how the cable need to function and be adjusted.
Umm what was the figures???
Do you want to know what the pressures of the transmission was? Not sure what you are asking?
@markbowler3374 I'm have to go back and watch the video again it's been so long, I will respond back to your comment if your available.
