Great video I think I want to buy a gear vendors overdrive
same pin on C6 Z06 ?
What if I’m using a stock powerglide to a stock 5.3 gen3 flex plate still gotta have a 3/16 gap?
I heard the defunct VMP Gen 2R (2300) hit the hardest and is/ was the best choice for stock bottom end cars.
Thanks for the help I needed that 👍🏾👍🏾
That 2003-2011 CV Alternator made by Mitsubishi isn't offered on nothing but Police Interceptors. I check Rock Auto or one private Automotive Stores for local shops doesn't deals with public. Best get one new if remand from Motorcraft. Get one with pulley installed have have special puller remove & install if get from Advance.
Amps what pulled power down for fuel pump not voltage. Takes lot amps start eletric motor than to run. Like 30 amp fan may take 60 amps start the motor for 1.5-2 sec. As police car tech for you guys running 2V stop voltage issues & belt slip install 03-11 CV Police Interceptor Mitsubishi Alternator it's 240 peak amp has one way clutch pulley. Getting off gas pulley has clutch keeps from Alternator spinning backwards & stops belt slip.
Which ya'll recommend the VMP ODIN or Whipple 3.0 for max torque down low in a 2014 6 spd GT Track Pack w/3.73. I probably won't go above 6.8K RPM. Would be awesome to hit 600 ft. Lbs at 2000 RPM. Also the 3.73 has to go, 1st gear is useless. what say 3.3 or 3.5? Would be fun to cruise 80 at 1600 RPM.
So how did the 303 hydraulic fluid work for you?
Were you able to get this finished with the pipe? Did you notice a difference?
Uni-lug stands for universal lug. The holes are oblong to fit the washers, the lug nut hole in the washer is offset so that you can pull these wheels off of Ford, flip the washer 180 degrees, and they will now fit Chevy or Mopar. If you want that style of wheel that has a reg centric hole buy a set of toque thrust D's.
Well, it is not the wheel bolts that are supposed to hold the wheel in the correct position. It is the center hole that will do. The bolts are not designed for this and there is a great danger that they will break off during use. If the wheel wobbles after assembly, it is the center hole that is wrong.
Did All AOD 4R70 4R70E have lockup after OD?
Nice
Which haltech elite do you have and so you like haltech elite vs all of Holley ecu's like the terminator x and the HP?
Elite 2500
@@Wilsonandcars which do you recommend elite 2500 or HP or the terminator x?
@@yojiholmesproductions I like Haltech over Holley , however go with what is most popular in your area with good support! Majority of people I know are on Holley, so support is typically better on that platform from a help stand point outside of the companies help.
@@Wilsonandcars well the haltech elite 2500 has more inputs and outputs than the Holley terminator x and the Holley HP
@@yojiholmesproductions yes if you need the extra I/O the elite 2500 is a winner over the HP for sure. I didn’t see you mentioned the Terminator x, stay away from that ECU. On Holley side HP or Dominator is all I suggest from them. The other selling point for me on the Haltech was the software is nicer to navigate.
did u ever figure out what o ring fits
Do you need line pressure for solinoid to release. Mine is sticking. It's definitely a power issue. But I haven't ever run the trans. It's very fresh. It's for sure not the valve.
probably need to pull the spool piece and sand it down lightly. had the same issue when my trans was new.
Gen4-5 Whipple gets it done though. VMP is a great blower, I had a 2.3. The violence with Whipple down low is plenty as well. They made great strides with the 4 and 5 revisions.
Any word if the 3.0 w/3.5 upper can fit a stock cobra hood?
No issues with the 3.5 pulley and stock hood , the elbow has been known to rub on the back side of the hood slightly under throttle.
@@Wilsonandcars thank you sir
What kinda power did it make through 4r70
Im Using the On3 setup , i modified it by welding an inline rad cap. I also bypassed all the lower mess and just used a 90 degree and a Moroso adapter. Im fighting getting this thing to burp properly. Any other tips or tricks? Essentially im filling the system right at the upper hose
Does it clear with the stock hood and k member?
Holy shit buddy you seem like a pretty cool guy but just take This as innocent genuine advice. Switch up that hair doo somehow someway man the bowl cuts gotta go you got bangs cut straight across your forehead im not being a ass I’m the dude telling ya so you don’t have to walk around lookin like that. Sweet build.
So what is the best Intercoolers pump made for our cobras what do you recommend
I know this is a late post but I just wanted to take the time to thank both of you for all your contributions to the community, words cannot express my appreciation for your dedication. Thank you thank you thank you!
Could have gotten all of this and more from a megasquirt. 🤣
Uni-lug wheels not good. Had Cragars and and the oblong hole does not instill confidence. On another note, you may want to try more fiber in your diet...
Did you plug the hole on bottom or is there supposed to be a vacuum port there? Thanks
You said the Summit filter had a cellulose media... I learned the hard way years ago.. You cannot use cellulose type filters with Methonal /Ethonal. I couldn't figure out why my injectors kept sticking... This was back when E85 was just starting to get popular and info was limited. Talked to injector company... they filled me in about filter types. Cellulose will break down the filter and send it thru your system.. Summit at the time when i bought the same filter listed a cellulose filter as E85 compliant..when i asked summit about it they gave me BS response. You have to use a SS or fiberglass / microglass media. Just wanted to share if ya didnt already know
When adding this cross over and the thermostat at the y block, do you still need the stock thermostat down below ?
When you do this crossover delete kit and have the thermostat at the y-block, do you still need the regular stock thermostat down below ?
the problem with 4r70w it wont handle the power ..
Don’t know from experience but I’ve been told the gen5 is really lazy on lower boost. It loves to spin!
is Holley Terminator X speed density?
I went with whipple just because it's made here in the USA. Their customer service really sucks ass tho, guess that's what happens when you get too big and people there just go to work to put in their 40 hours.
Still the same opinion of the vmp hitting harder than the whipple gen 5 ? I can’t decide which route i want to go with my car
Yes , the 2650 has a harder initial hit vs the Whipple 3.0. I tell everyone running 93 go with VMP. I am currently saving up funding for a 2650 to do some back to back track testing of both blowers
Ok I don’t wanna nitpick but get in the left lane when there’s a car on the shoulder
Thanks so much for this video, looking for real evidence of this for awhile now, thanks for keeping it simple too
Absolutely love your vid’s! I’ve learned so much! I would love to see a vid if you had time of the new Gen 5 oh a basically stock 03 cobra. I just bought my Gen 5 but I’m on the stock motor. All I have is Borla Ataks, BAP, Snow Meth kit, upgraded HE and a tune. Just wanted to know what you thought would be the best combo to go with as far as the upper and lower and boost. Thank You for all you do sir!
what fuel are you running? 93 or Ethanol?
@@Wilsonandcars I’m on 93. What do you think is a safe HP goal? Reasonable? All input will be greatly appreciated!
@@jonathancrump5426 you will be over 600 , you will need 1000cc injectors to supply enough fuel and probably upgraded pumps as well. On the Whipple if you got the 132mm throttle body I would figure a stock lower pulley with a 3.6 or even the 3.7 pulley on the upper, You want to keep it under 20# IMO. I would suggest talking out the setup with the tuner because at the end of the day he should have the final say.
@@Wilsonandcars thank you sir! I appreciate all the advise! Keep on doing the vids!!
Hey guys, you said you were setting this up for an 03/04 cobra, but in the video you set the idle control for Drive by wire. What are the proper setting for an 03-04 cobra idle control valve?
it will be PWM , holley suggests 600hz on ford applications however I run 300hz thats usually where i find a good spot. on the advance tab i typically end up using the CUSTOM function to gain more control. here is a link to some good info on it forums.holley.com/showthread.php?6563-General-IAC-Info-amp-Ford-PWM-IAC-Wiring
@@Wilsonandcars THx guys! I found that this harness was pinned wrong but now that I fixed it I have full control with 315hz and just set on ford 50/pwm in the software
Should've dropped the whole subframe out the bottom you can have engine and trans out in less than a hour
Thanks bro very helpful
Turn em all in by hand and only tighten them last?
I'm all about adding lightness to everything, but put some plates on that bench press plz :) But really great work guys, exciting project!!
All the money in the cars , can’t afford weights 😂
Been using Flex Hones for years on our SR20 engines. Make 3x the factory HP on stockish junkyard engine builds and never had a problem.
Have a question.. Where do you have the 1/2 npt fitting headed to for the head coolant mod? does this connect to the head cooling mod on the driver side somehow?
It depends on if your head cooling mod calls for it, a lot of them do not but some do and James just gave that option. On my car that is plugged
@@Wilsonandcars ok good deal
Next Season: K-swapped Saleen
you guys drop the oil pan for that bolt or send it?
What ha goin to do with all that leftover lawnmower rice 😂
Can I drive it on the streets if I do this mob
I do..
