Yes & it was even more fun to see in person! Sadly not a lot of overfilled cans, but it was still good to see these old trucks one last time before saying goodbye. I’m really going to miss the condors specifically because they’re the last iconic relics the city still has tbh; I never realized where the time went until I started seeing these new jumbo 130 curbtenders pop up everywhere.

I really wish I was able to film this truck today. Too bad the engine fan was on the whole time. Is the video sort of short because the truck broke down shortly after?

This was filmed from 3-4PM, after the truck was "fixed" by the rover. It's on the short side of videos because he had help from another driver & not enough good spots to film overall. The engine fan reminded me a bit like 830080, I wonder if they took that one out and put it in 223. Nonetheless was a fun trip overall regardless of the breakdown. Thanks for the comment!

@@ArizonasDisposalI filmed this truck two years ago, and the engine fan sounded the same, although the truck didn't have that squealing sound when accelerating at the time. The fan was so loud it shook the ground

@@WasteKing_AZYes now that you mention it I remember seeing 223 a little under 2 years ago as well, and sure enough the engine fan was on all the time. It makes me question if the shop just modified the already existing fan to stay on continuously as an attempt to keep the engine from overheating(?)

@@benjisgarbagetrucksYes, Lyon does a phenomenal job. He’s very fast and efficient compared to when I first met him as an apprentice. He’ll make any truck look entertaining regardless how fast or slow it is, which is why he stands out a lot more in contrast to a lot of other drivers. Thank you for commenting!

This might just be the perfect video. 1. Lyon behind the wheel 2. Classic Phoenix paint scheme 3. A classic Curbtender that sounds great 4. Features the old "crappy spare" that actually runs pretty well 5. Taken in a nice neighborhood, not in the "hood" 6. Manual packing with LOUD revs!!! Excellent video and thanks to Lyon for making it possible!

Great video. Gilbert definitely seems to be feeling the negative side of having Amreps make up the majority of the ASL fleet. I saw this truck this past Friday morning. Saw the Phoenix Amrep about 2 weeks ago as well.

thanks boss…yeah I wonder what they’re gonna decide to do as their scorpions continue to wear down. It seems as if drivers either love or hate amreps; no in-between opinions. I’m curious to see the options they pick for the future of their fleet, are you guys still loaning trucks to them when you can or nah?

@@ArizonasDisposal Gilbert has refurbished 2 scorpions so far. Not sure if they’re doing anymore or not. Getting new trucks is next to impossible right now. It’s a 3 year wait depending on the body, and cab. Mesa has only given them 1 truck in recent weeks, but mesa is always hurting for trucks. Which Seems to be the new normal for most Valley cities. It’s hard to get parts, and find mechanics now a days. Even Republic, and WM are hurting for trucks. Some of it has to do with growth. Almost every valley city has seen a insane amount of growth. Which just pushes the trucks even more down hill.

@@Noah2473 it's probably been about 2-3 weeks since I noticed 330169 also added to gilbert's fleet, it seems almost as if we're giving them side load trucks in return for bulk crews since we had a few of their rear loaders collecting in east phoenix recently...such a strange time.

This is what happens when 90%of your fleet is amrep. We sent a couple to Gilbert also. Needed them back the next day though. We have our own issues with our trucks
