    5120x2160p is nice, only you need a beast of a graphic card to pump decent FPS out on that resolution (RTX 5000 series?). I'm still in doubt what to do. 34-inch with 3440x1140 is also ok i guess, but as i am used to 4K less sharp (but decent FPS FPS). 3440x1140 on 39-inch has a PPI that's to low, so not interesting for me.

    This monitor does have a confirmed hidden menu. Turn off your monitor. Once off. Push the joystick to the left 3 times and one time to the right, Then .Push in the center to turn the monitor on service menu. Once The main menu comes out. Go to settings ..and the hidden menu will pop up on the left side of your screen. Once there. You need to turn on HCDP on in order to enjoy netflix in full 4k with hdr. Otherwise it wont work. We need all the help we can get together.

    It looks like the 31.5in 4k WOLED panel with the new sub pixel layout (LG 32GS95UE) was released earlier than expected. Do you think the 45in 5K2K WOLED with the new sub pixel layout that’s set for production in December could be due a little sooner as well?

  • @tftcentral
    @tftcentralКүн бұрын

    That model was available in very limited stock and only in certain regions, with wider mass production of the panel now ongoing. Other monitors using that panel are still not launched yet. Could see the same thing with the other panels although no display manuf is yet to announce a monitor using it. If it was to appear early it would likely be in an LG Electronics monitor again

    Thanks for this and other reviews on this year's new oled. I am currently waiting for the MSI MPG 341CQPX review, will you be able to review it only when it goes on sale (probably in August) or can you possibly do it earlier? Because I noticed that some small MSI partners have already gotten it and have done their reviews on youtube I'm really looking forward to a review from you including. Tired of waiting for this model because 240 hz is really better than 175 hz. And I'm looking at MSI 271QRX periodically because I'm tired of sitting on my slow VA from xiaomi. Though I realize I'm too used to the 21:9 format and am unlikely to buy a standard 16:9. Too bad only MSI long enough to release this model on 240 hz, 21:9 format :(

This issue is pretty annoying, since the only solution for me is to turn off VRR completly. Setting up a ruleset in nvidia control panel to not enable GSYNC for games with this problem, does not work. You have to turn it off in the OSD which is annoying.

    Overall the monitor has been great, even with the latest 010 firmware. I particularly liked how it goes back to standby or on after the panel protect kicks in. However, a few issues I've noticed, the VRR flicker is still there on certain games. Especially Jedi Survivor in the loading and menus. Most of the game is fine but when you pause the game it'll flicker a bit, maybe it was reduced but its still there. If you turn off G-Sync it goes away completely but you'll be at that 90-100fps at 240Hz. Another thing that hasn't been resolved is the panel protect where even if you leave the monitor on in standby the entire night/day it will still kick in once it hits its internal 16 hour timer. I know when I'm getting ready for work at around 6AM, even if I use the monitor for say 10-15 minutes then leave it on standby the entire day say 8-9 hours. Come back home and while you're doing something the menu for 16 hours pops up saying its mandatory and/or I use it for a few hours after work then I come back with a full 8 minute or so pixel cleaning. I don't know how it is for the other panels but LG doesn't have this issue so they're doing something right there. So yes I have caught the popup and/or forced panel protect in the most inconvenient times and its funny my second monitor would still be on while this one is flashing on stand by. Overall if they can fix these issues it'll be one more step closer to a better monitor.

    I'm still getting bad VRR flicker in loading screens on games. Also according to the black level test on lagom, the black levels are too dark on every picture mode except Game/Pro User with HDR enabled. There is slight temporal dithering on greys which you can also see on the Lagom black level test. Finally when changing the HDR brightness in windows labled "SDR content brightness" it does seem to inaccurately display white levels with each brightness tick. In my testing HDR enabled, True Black 400, and Pro User has the most accurate black levels at the cost of temporal dithering while Display P3 has the most accurate color when using HDR at the cost of black levels. Those calibrations would be perfect imo if they could fix the temporal dithering and VRR flicker in the next FW update. I play a lot of dark games like Dead by Daylight so black levels are an important and often overlooked issue. The screens pretty much unusable for me without HDR because the Night Mode and AI Vision messes with the colors too much and makes the screen look washed out. I almost returned it until I found the above calibration. Overall I'm pretty happy with this monitor. Its very versatile for a wide range of games and scenarios!
