Climbed many times well worth 199 steps I’m in the process of building a working model of it
I love supporting MAC on my annual summer vacation!
Cool
People say this lighthouse was scary does seem scary
I am embarrassed to say this, but my knees buckled and wouldn't move 3/4 of the way up my first time there. I had a panic attack! It was the 1st time I realized I had vertigo. I am determined to try it again in the spring!
Don't feel bad, that happens in small spaces. Make sure it's a cooler day when you go as summer is way too hot and little air gets circulated until you reach the top.
I love cape may and it’s my 2nd favorite city after Florida (I forgot the cities name) and this was great because I was in Cape May this summer and we went to the lighthouse and missed climbing times by 1 hour (yeah I know I’m stupid should have looked on the website) and I’m hoping to drive to Cape May next weekend. And damn I want to go to the lighthouse more than last time. Anyway I have a request for a future video. As the lighthouse is not open to climb at night can you make a tour of it at night. I’ve always been curious what it looks like at night inside. Thank you and I hope to see it soon!!❤
Thanks for your wonderful comment! The Cape May Lighthouse is actually open at nighttime on special evenings during the year so you can experience that! We offer Full Moon Climbs on nights of the full moon and Stairway to the Stars climbs on nights of the New Moon (so you can see the stars better) during the year. They are lovely and a great experience. capemaymac.org.
To be honest, summer is the worst time to climb it, it's super hot and humid, little to no air circulated through. I climbed it Summer of 2009 and many of us were having trouble breathing, it was a nightmare. Only until you reach near the top do you feel the breeze from the opening. Cooler months are the best times to go.
Thank you
RIP Brian Howe !!!!
Thanks so much for this presentation! I really enjoyed the read; and the information about the story, author, and places in the book that you both provided. This book was an excellent selection!
so suepr job, see ya!!
Very interesting. I’ve seen Maud’s image before but did not know her story or how risqué those crazy Victorian kids were! Badass! ❤️🌞 🌊
This docent is a treasure. I can’t believe the amount of storytelling and info he packed into 13 minutes! Wonderful house, too. I wish I could see this docent give a full tour!
Thank you! You can visit the Physick Estate in Cape May for a guided tour. Visit capemaymac.org for schedule.
Spent a dozen vacations in Cape May with my late wife Lynn. The hundreds of Victorian homes, the hospitality and the safe environment make Cape May a jewel in the crown of vacation destinations if you are looking for a relaxing time away from your busy life, an environment where you can safely enjoy walking, visiting tranquil sights and enjoy eating in some of the finest restaurants you'll find in any east coast holiday destination. If you like Honky Tonk beach life you can always visit Wildwood just north and Atlantic City is only 45 miles north and then you can return to spend evenings and quiet nights in any one of dozens and dozens of non-commercial accommodations in Cape May. Enjoy.
kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZKdntZltZdCXcaQ.html A better method to produce more meat easier and quicker. Save the encrusted seasoning top shell, retain the mustard if desired (Yum). Occasionally dip a morsel into apple cider vinegar then touch the encrusted seasoning for a blend of maximum flavors. Enjoy this season's catch!
My daughter and I recently went on the Haunted Tour. Would LOVE to go back during the day to see the architectural details in this house. We were the last two people in our tour group to come down the stairs and daughter said she felt like somebody was right behind her.👻Also, after more than a year, her asthma flared up during this tour! Enough that she needed her inhaler when we got home. Did any of the family die from lung related illness?? Daughter said the chest tightness just came out of nowhere! The tour was excellent btw.
Just went on the tour today. Someone died on the second floor bedroom of Tuberculosis according to he tour guide. It was a super fun tour.
This guy is good as a tour guide the best I've ever seen!
I thought the same thing!
@@jackieh925 me too! Very entertaining!
I love this house and I love the tour you gave, very in depth and the layout of the house was very clear, is there a part two tour for the rooms upstairs?
Thank you! You can visit the Physick Estate for a guided tour and see the first and second floors. Visit capemaymac.org for schedule.
I absolutely LOVE this house! I took the Halloween Ghost tour and it was amazing! Cannot wait to come back. Maybe this Summer? I need some Cape May after this past year...desperately
Just went on the tour today. Someone died on the second floor bedroom of Tuberculosis according to he tour guide. It was a super fun tour.
@@truthof7382 it is just such a beautiful estate with great history! 👻
@@jackieh925 Lol, I posted that comment on the wrong post. It was for a someone who asked if anyone died in the house from a lung related illness. Anyway, the tour it is absolutely fascinating! The spirits and Paranormal activity PLUS the house itself is so wonderful. I have to go again.
@@truthof7382 I’ll see you there! 👻 🌊
Who are the Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson actors in the photo please?
How are ya, Cape May MAC. extremely surprising video. thanks. :)
i experienced spirits! i felt someone touch my neck and i also sensed the Dr.! i felt dizzy, nauseous, and depressed once i stepped on the ground and throughout the whole tour. kind of sad i didn’t get to enjoy the tour as much but hopefully i can come back one day!
Hi Amadia: Some people who are sensitive might react the same way you have, and I hope you get the chance to visit again, soon. Victorian decor and furniture is elaborate and somewhat heavy - but a unique architectural experience and we work hard to be true to the era. Dr. Physick had many dogs on the estate as well and was devoted to their care. Some people have experienced what they describe as a dog's tail brushing against their legs! Best wishes!
That was fun. Thanks for sharing it.
Glad you enjoyed it capemaymac.org
Very difficult to see the items the camera was too far away and did not adjust for glare, but the guide was awesome!
Thanks Anne! We did this video very quickly with limited equipment the day prior to the state shutdown. Fast and furious! We appreciate you watching and hope you can visit Cape May now that we have limited in person tours available. capemaymac.org.
The camera was on the people the entire time! All the windows, the view from the top, even the posters were barely glanced at and the view was almost entirely of the woman. Would have been without people at all but still wouldn't have seen much.
Hi Anne: Thanks for your feedback! We put this video together the day before the state shutdown and wanted to give people the feel of what it was like to climb to the top. The Cape May Lighthouse is now open to the public and we encourage visitors to experience the feeling directly and stop along the way to view the interpretive panels!
Very interesting
Thanks for watching Trish!
So very well done.
Thank you kindly! We appreciate you watching! capemaymac.org
These videos are very interesting and informative. Thank you so much for presenting them.
Glad you like them! capemaymac.org
Did all that work and then couldn’t even show how to do the claws?
I know ! I wish we had done the claws as well. We should have taken more time. They can be tricky. Thanks for watching!
What a pleasure to hear of a treasured history! Thanks
Our pleasure! capemaymac.org
Thank you Tom for presenting this exhibit with us who can't make it to Cape May yet! I hope to see it in person before it closes!
Please do! Our exhibit is open to visitors through 2021! capemaymac.org
Great virtual tour. Never been to Cape May, hopefully in the nearer future. Thanks for putting this together!
Glad you enjoyed it! capemaymac.org
Another terrific episode. I enjoy building structures in miniatures. Are the blue prints for the Physick estate online anywhere? TIA
Thank you! I am unaware of blueprints online. I will make a few inquiries though.
thank you for doing these! See you in August Cape May! We booked our rental!
Wonderful! We look forward to seeing you safe and sound!
I am really enjoying this series..thanks to all of you. Hope to get there in the fall.
Wonderful! We look forward to seeing you safe and sound!
There is no classier person than Tom Carroll. He is an understated Cape May hero. Love the video, and look forward to more.
Thank you! Tom is a treasure. Hope to see you soon! capemaymac.org
These are really interesting. Thank you, Tom and your technical crew!
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching! capemaymac.org
You had me know watching, until you started breaking the crab in half! Sorry, but you did a lousy job of getting all the meat out with your fingers! My daddy would roll over in his grave(from the Depression) if he saw how much meat you left in the shells! We learned to pick a shell in MD till it was empty! We broke ea leg segment and joint for hidden meat! Depending on the size of the Blue Crab, you could get your full on 3-5 crabs from doing a thorough job of picking! Man, I'd have to follow you at the table to get all that leftover crab meat!!!
Hi Rosemary! My uncle was a stickler, too, and we all got in trouble if we left any meat on the shell. This is not a thorough picking, just a demo of how to do it for those who've never eaten a hard shell crab before. We leave the eating up to you! Thanks for watching!
Great video, nice and close-up. Thanks!!
H&H is the best!
