Father of Games

Father of Games

Hey, thanks for visiting my channel! On this channel you’ll find how to play videos, which I try to make as short while still easy to understand as possible, reviews and rankings out of 10 and unboxings with the help of my wonderful daughter Addilyn and maybe my son Owen when he’s older (if he behaves).
Feel free to leave any suggestions for videos you’d like.
Unfortunately my work schedule is very busy and unpredictable making my filming schedule sporadic and less frequent than I would like but despite that I plan to always continue putting out videos just not nearly as many as I would like.

    Fellow father. Fellow solo gamer. Thanks for the specifics on each. I ended up getting rid of Mage Knight. It's a too long right now for my schedule.

    Hey thanks for watching :), it’s always hard to know when to get rid of a game eh but hopefully you were able to find a game to replace mage knight with.

    you said <18 minutes, but then you said to pause after 4 out of 5 rules! if I pause I won't finish in time! jk, thanks for the video, and thanks for the warning about the last action.

    Im late to the party, but i just completed the solo challenge. I found the X tokens and X action being much more powerful in single player allowing more x5 actions when youre pressed for action economy. Great game, i disguised a racoon as baby panda to boost sales in a failing zoo 10/10.

    I just played this for the first time over at Emerald Tavern here in Austin. I loved it. It's a challenge to get past the rule book for the first time, but once I got into the meat of the game, I found that the gameplay was fast-paced, which felt like playing Diablo for PC. Kill the monster, get the loot, level up, avoid the traps, trade your gear. I only got to the second level of the dungeon because it was my first time playing, but I'm gonna be back soon and I'll play it again.

    Just saw your video and decided to try solo again. Won two straight games!! For me it works to just focus on appeal. Just dash around the appeal track and at some point conservation points will be coming. You cannot focus too much on long term plans and gambles. Not enough time for that. Cool video, man!

    Thanks for the great vid! I ended a standard crawl yesterday on the east side of the board. Is it stated anywhere in the rulebook that the standard delve is required to end on the north side of the board? I am not seeing that in the description of the delve. Simply states you must cross the threshold. This was the second standard crawl of the session that I played and it was by far the longest and dangerous so I am not too worried, but it would be nice to have some clarification. Really really enjoying this purchase so far though, despite the rules being a bit muddy in places.

  • @fatherofgames9239
    @fatherofgames923926 күн бұрын

    Glad you enjoyed the video, it isn’t explicitly stated in the rules anywhere I could see I had to look up some forums online and one of the designers said that the standard crawl starts on the south and you only can exit from the north. A dead end is caused by any tile placed over the threshold on the west or east of the board. Better clarification in the rulebook would definitely be nice. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the game so far :).

    Nice reviews. My only critique is you tend to refer to games in past tense. Reviews should be in the present tense, e.g. ‘the game instructions are really good’ instead of ‘the game instructions were really good’ and ‘The ability to go wherever you want is really good’ instead of ‘was really good’.

    Hi, I was wondering with the Bellfaire expansion if it would be possible to play 8 people. My husband & I have 3 couple friends that want to play. I was wondering if you could just put extra action spaces out and we could add the 8th player with some worker characters. Instead of a total of 15 cards in your city, it would have to be less maybe since there is the 8th player gather their city.

  • @fatherofgames9239
    @fatherofgames92394 ай бұрын

    To be honest Belfaire is the only expansion I haven’t tried but I’m sure you could probably do it that would be a lot of downtime in between turns though.
