Just a few warnings... The uploads are not unlimited. They will literally ban you and withhold all earnings if you "flood music platforms" the official response from them is The Beatles only released a few 100 songs in their entire career, so it makes no sense for you to upload that many songs in a month. This applies even to label account uploaders paying over $1k a year to have multiple names, only releasing a few songs a week per artist. It's complete BS. The support is next to non existent. They have around 1 support agent for every 14,000 artists (yes really) They have accused thousands of artists of faking streams, banned, and withheld earnings, even famous artists like Kyle Beats. There are even countless artists who got told they were getting fake streams, when the vast majority of their streams came from DISTROKID playlists lol. MMXVII used to be sponsored by them full time, and spoke with the former CEO on many occasions. He too was accused of fake plays, and ignored and dropped once they hit his account. Despite over half his streams coming from spotify Editorial and algo. Spotify did not even begin the $10 fine policy until april,. yet Distrokid started enacting it before 2024. They also claim it's Spotify not them, yet many have confirmed with Spotify support that it is in fact Distrokid, and their profiles are fine, despite being told otherwise. They have withheld more royalties than any other distro, often refusing to give any concrete reason. The list goes on. Please do NOT use them or advocate for others to use them. The tech behind their distro is incredible, the actual company is trash.

All these distributors are the the same and let’s face it steaming services make music worthless. Selling on Band Camp is better because you get everything.

Oh and I have questions, but I will consume your videos before posing them. So far. I'm pretty cool with DistroKid. Curious to see if you have perspectives that I can learn from. If not implement. Can you make a video about how to upload your song on Distrokid as a songwriter but not as a singer? The artist's section is confusing to me. Is the songwriter the artist or is the singer is the artist? I am a new songwriter and I have a singer who i paid for her to sing my song. How do i submit my work to Distrokid so that we both, singer and songwriter gets our credits.

I don't have a contract but I have a receipt that prove I hire her her to sing the song. Plus multiple text between us both.
@@ShaunaMY1 that’s a good start! I would definitely screen shot those texts and save them. Then confirm with her that she is just receiving the one time payment and doesn’t get a percentage of streaming royalties. If possible, use email rather than text going forward since an email can be better defended as a binding agreement. (I’m not a lawyer, this is just my experience so make sure you consult with legal counsel if needed) once you start making bank on the song, you have a clear agreement. Also, to answer your original question, I would release it with you as the artist if you plan to continue using a variety of vocalists.

...Is this the same Distrokid company that was sued in New York for breach of fiduciary responsibilities? I thought you were going to go bankrupt from that, or are you trying to get new clients to pay off your debtors?
Hey! Thanks for commenting. Yes it is. Doeman Music Group Media vs DistroKid was filed in 2023. I’m actually not associated with DistroKid at all. I am just sharing videos about all the different distribution platforms to help newer artists choose which platform is best for them.
@MusicTubeMarketing Slight recommendation then, in this specific short form content it has the professionalism and cadence of a corporate channel. Not that it is a bad thing it shows competence in your work. But without a disclaimer or something it feels like an ad or corporate channel. Good luck on your endeavors
