Smidge Life

My name is Kobe. I commuted for over 3 years on an electric bike. Next was our attempt at Vanlife in a VW Vanagon with my lovely wife Stephanie and our little dog (Lily) in Jun 2020; but the universe had other plans. This is my journey through life, eBikes, #vanlife, auto, travel, and tech.

I would caution anyone buying an e-bike to research the manufacturers. You might find yourself with an online bike that you have to put together with a smorgasbord of hard to find components. Good luck finding a shop to work on yours as many won’t or won’t work on the electrical system at all. Brick and mortar bikes come with 1 or 2 yr warranties and a couple of important free inspections and adjustments. But get something!

Cadence sensor for assistance should be made illegal...they don't 'assist' they take over... People don't know how to properly use it ... Killing 70 year old ladies for example...besides you can pedal backwards and still engage the motor...

I like that a cadence sensor allows you to pedal as much or as little as you like with torque you must pedal continuously. With a cadence and my level of fitness I can go on a 30-40 mile bike ride but with torque I would be limited.

Best thing is not to ride with a valuable bike if you need to lock it up somewhere. Don't have it stand out and still use a U-lock of at least a chain if possible. It's sad that cyclists don't get better options to park their bikes in public spaces if they always talk to us about going green

It’s actually a very good table for the money. My brother and I bought the 7ft table and played on it last night. As long as it’s leveled it’s actually pretty great. Get a large leveler that will fit side to side. Level each side, the middle. Adjust that first then level long ways. Use the adjustable feet and If you need more use flat hard surfaces like large washers or thin flat wood. That’s what I did and it worked great. The middle will level out when your done fine tuning

Replaced my starter with a brand new one, it had a slow weak start, sometimes after a good drive stop to fill up and it barely wants to start. What the heck right? my issue was the ignition harness plug. I remembered disconnecting mine to swap out the wiper arm mechanism. It was not plugged in all the way, Starts right up like yours does now. My battery is brand new and fully charged too. Of course there are many reasons, sometimes it's the grounds, it's the battery terminals etc...
