  Minato would essentially break Naruto's plot. For the sake of the plot, he couldn't be in the story. You know a character is broken when the only way to preserve the cannon is by getting rid of him

  Actually he was , he didnt revealed his true indetity until itachi died and like no one else itachi woule be the first one to see trough obito's ability which lot of character in the manga came to know late about the ability which made obito so strong until they realise that its the same ability that kakashi has. Prove for it in the dream that obito created Itachi came to come with a plan of fighting obito within seconds and said "based on your apearance physical attacks wont work on you but i have other methods" which to what obito replier your a nuisance like allways and retreted.
