I loved the old comedies . These are missing . I loved them all. There was much to laugh about and look forward to the nights they were on the TV.🇬🇧

I’m surprised at how much the young Prunella Scales resembled Stephanie Beacham.

My favorite British (or any ) comedy is " Are You Being Served". At one time, I had every episode on DVD plus all the related specials and series that followed. John was my favorite. Second was Molly.

His father died not long after this was filmed. He had a stroke just before Richard was due to record an episode of MATH and his mother told him to continue the recording then come to see him. Sadly he'd already died. Sally who was dating Richard at the time said they attended the funeral together but when they returned Richard's dog had killed his Mum's budgie!

The fact every single comment on here is so positive shows how loved Brian is. My family knew someone who worked at Thames TV in the 70s and they said him and Richard O'Sullivan in particular were really kind and charming, nobody had a bad word to say about them.

It's so lovely to see the great David Nixon who we sadly lost just two years after this was broadcast. He always came across as such a lovely man and those who worked with him have vouched for that.

We just don't get "Shows" like this anymore. We don't have any "Real" TV personalities to interview anymore. Most now have either passed away, or are too old to be on TV anymore. The last time I saw Brian on TV he was on "Last of the Summer Wine" I believe he is still around but in his 90's he will now be deemed to be too old. Sad, but these old Comedy Legends are now just a distant memory.
