Good video Tanner. When we come down to visit we order online from the Wal Mart Market and schedule pickup for when we arrive. It's real convenient and saves time. If Wal Mart is out of anything we ordered we'll pick it up at Food Lion. Then we head on over to Topsail Beach. We've also picked up some things from the IGA. I like the IGA and the people there are very friendly and helpful.

Another great video! 👏 Out of all of the grocery stores, what would you say is your favorite one to shop at?
Really depends on what I'm looking to buy. I think Publix and Harris Teeter have the best products to offer. They are more expensive, so if I need something quick or generic I'll go to Walmart or Food Lion. When I lived on the Island, I would go to the IGA to mostly avoid traffic.

Love the video! Is there anyplace on Topsail that offers tubing for visitors? I've been searching and found places to rent boats, but no tubing...thanks in advance and great video!
We love to tube in the summer and fall. I'm a licensed captain, but my insurance doesn't cover this activity. I would check with a company called Topsail Voyages. I know the owner and he might be able to provide this service.
Topsail Beach is my favorite part of the island. Quiet and relaxing but and just a short drive to Surf City. Enjoying your videos, new subscriber now.

Been to the Salty Turtle before when visiting Topsail Beach. Had no idea all the other businesses were back there. Going to have to try some of them out. We also come during the off season, fall and winter, hope some of those places are open then. Great looking CJ5 by the way.
The island has changed to become much more year-round for businesses.
It’s not just wranglers I have a Jeep Renegade and received 7 so far lol 😂
We’ve gone to Topsail since the late 80’s and it’s crazy how the finds have changed in size and quantity. My time on the beach is for the hunt alone!! Cool to see others do the same!! Thanks for sharing!

Yes they should be. I don't know if they will keep the same hours. The island still has a good number of people on the island in October.
My wife and I came down last year for the first time last year, and fell in love with the area. We are coming back in September

I was there early June. The locals are shark tooth hoarders. They get up before the sun and collect them all before the tourists can. 😅

This brings back memories.l used to cast a net in a little estuary called Broad Creek near Swansboro North Carolina.l fished a good Pier in Topsail once.l think it was called The Jolly Roger.

The south end, the water is much much, more shallow…thus causing the water to look almost like the Bahamas when the sun is at 12 o’clock
I will tell you that the food they serve at the pier house is fantastic and so is the ice cream
I really miss being able to park at serenity point for free and taking my kayak and going over to the island waiting for the tied to shift and paddling back
Prettiest send in North Carolina, especially on the south end, except for the right hand side of bald head Island

There used to be a NY Deli in the strip mall beside the Crows Nest MARINA in Atlantic Beach, I wonder if it’s the same hand.
I knew the owners when they opened the NY Corner Deli in Surf City. It was their only store for sure. Super nice family that opened it here on Topsail.

Topsail was always our favorite beach, and we spent many years, (from 1967 to around the early 80's), vacationing there. Things were pretty simple back then, not much to do except the putt-putt, but that was fine, as it was all about the beach and fishing. I know things have changed a lot since those days, and I look forward to seeing what is going on there today, although I may be disappointed on what I might see with the development.
You should talk about why they call it topsail Island. Most people don’t even know and butcher the name and call it topsoil… without ever realizing the reasoning behind the name

Can you rent a rod there, or do you have to bring your own?
I know they have equipment to purchase. However, I don't think they rent poles. Sweet Dreams Linens and rentals I believe still rents fishing poles.
I called around and you can rent rods at the pier! Sweet Dreams does not rent rods.
