Listen to the song “Billy Gray” and compare it to a song,” Greycoat Soldiers”, and the song “Sweet Sunny South”.

When Alison Kraus and Robert Plant where working out the details for their album, Ms. Kraus wanted Norman on a couple of the tracks. Ms. Kraus contacted Norman and asked if he would come to Nashville to record. He replied,"No, I don't feel like driving up there. But, your more than welcome to come down here (Rising Fawn, GA) and we can record the tracks here in our studio." So, that is how Norman Blake made Robert Plant come to Rising Fawn, GA to record.

Comparing Jimi and Norman is ridiculous. Their styles are completely different genres. Like comparing Yehudi Menuhin with Stuff Smith. Both great musicians, but nothing alike.

@ericfjerding Well, this clip is way cool and I'm really glad that you were able to record and post it. I need to learn this song! I saw Norman up in Iowa around this time(2001) and he played a lot of these types of tunes. I just love it!
