@petergoodearl3 жыл бұрын
@@carlpinder1051 The initial package you would buy is called 'Train Simulator 2021' or 'TS2021' from Steam or Dovetail Games store.steampowered.com/app/24010/Train_Simulator_2021/ This consists of the Simulator 'engine' which does all the processing and 3 Routes (one UK,US and German). Each Route is a self-contained data package with all the graphics items (buildings, trees, rolling stock) and positioning information that the 'engine' needs to display and make that route work. There are a many additional routes you can buy such as the steam era 'Riviera in the 50's' store.steampowered.com/app/325960/Train_Simulator_Riviera_Line_in_the_Fifties_Exeter__Kingswear_Route_AddOn/?curator_clanid=958135 (note: Steam and Dovetail sales are quite frequent with worthwhile discounts) You can also build your own route by using the graphic items from the routes you own. You will also need a lot of time, patience and hair to pull out. Your new route can be exported for sharing with someone but it will only include references to the graphic items used, to preserve copyright, so the recipient would also need to own the routes you have used. If you still have any time, patience and hair then you could try finding out how to make your own custom buildings. These would be fully included in your shared package. My route contains items from 5 commercial routes plus my own creations. Much of the rolling stock are additional purchases. The home page for my route is here. Looking good Peter, will this be based of your steam workshop map ? or the steam sounds supreme v2 ? reason I ask is (and I'm not trying to be harsh) the v2 map was a big let down when coming out the station near the top of the map (top left at the start) the embankment was made out of a set piece which colour looked completely off and wrong. To be fair I tried the map editor / terrain tools and couldn't create the embankment myself, but there must be something better than using static assets to lay the tracks on ?

Hi Peter, yes understandable, I appreciate that. I realise its hard to get it looking right, and the rest of the map was detailed and excellent, just the long stretch of embankment just didn't look right to the eye, but having tried the terrain editor myself to create it, its a pain to say the least. Maybe more foliage cover would help to break it up ?
