God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit: They are NOT the same: There is only one God, the Father. He is the owner of the spirit that lives in Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the angels. It is His spirit alone that does all things (Isaiah 44:24). God begat all, even Jesus (1 John 5:1). God is the only one who knows all things (Mark 13:32, Matthew 24:36). God possessed Jesus in the beginning, just as He does all things that belong to Him (Proverbs 8:22). Just as Jesus said, it is God the Father alone who is greater than ALL (John 10:29). Jesus is the one who said “my Father is greater than I” (John 14:28). Jesus tells us that everything he says and does come from the Father (John 12:49-50; John 5:19). Jesus said he only knows what the Father has taught him (John 8:28). Jesus said as the living Father has sent me, I live by and because of the Father (John 6:57). Jesus said as the Father has life, He has *_given_* me life (John 5:26). The Holy Spirit possesses God’s spirit alone, but he is not God. For it is written, “for the spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10). No one knows the mind of God unless He reveals it to them.

Gospel means good news! The bad news is we have all sinned and deserve the wrath to come. But Jesus the Messiah died for our sins, was buried, and then raised on the third day, according to the scriptures. He ascended into heaven and right now is seated at the Father's right hand. Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel." @@KootenaiChurch I am laughing out loud because this man is trying to explain away the Scriptures. The Good news is that the Holy Ghost AND his Gifts are still in the Church. One cannot separate the Holy Spirit from the Gifts of the Holy Spirits. sigh..... Such wasted time and effort. Ad one last thing. Our destination is through and beyond Jesus (John 14:6): Jesus tells us he is the only passageway to the Father. It is through Jesus that we will meet with the one and only God, the Father. Jesus tells us that no other can hear and answer our prayers outside of the Father. Never once did Jesus tell anyone to pray to him, but only to the Father (Luke 11:2). Jesus tells us that those who pray to him and say unto him, “Lord, Lord” and those who claim that he is God in place of his Father *_will not enter heaven._* Only those who do God’s will and finish His work will enter (Matthew 7:21). It is through Jesus that we will meet the Father on the other side (John 16:25-27). All who wish to inherit the kingdom of heaven must know the difference because Jesus and the Father are not the same. The Son was created and sent by the Father to finish HIS work (Revelation 3:14). Jesus, the Son of God, is the mightiest servant of God the Father, who sent, appointed, and chose His only begotten Son to lay witness and testimony to His work. For Jesus has declared him, saying “my Father is greater than I” (John 14:28).

Total Depravity - Ephesians 2:1-3 "And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind." Unconditional Election - Romans 9:15-16 "For he says to Moses, 'I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.' So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy." Limited Atonement - John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." I love Justin Peters' comments and examples about the "fringe" continuationists. I have known a handful of people I considered Christians who spoke in tongues. It was weird to me (because they just "babbled" and did NOT interpret what they were speaking). However, like Justin, I do expect to see these people in Heaven...because they believed In all of the basic Biblical principles concerning one's Salvation through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. On the other end of the spectrum, you have the Kenneth Copelands, Todd Bentleys, Heidi Bakers, etc....WOLVES in sheeps' clothing. Unless they repent, I do not expect to see them in Heaven. Great points made by all in this discussion!

Even IF today's so-called "gift" of tongues were real,(which it is NOT)... It is NOT BIBLICAL. The Apostle Paul said that only one or two should speak and there should ALWAYS BE AN INTERPRETER! All of today's "speaking in tongues" is a bunch of unholy gibberish...Babble(Babel)...a chaotic MESS! It's demonic. The Holy Spirit, (the Comforter that Jesus spoke of).... brings TRUTH, understanding of Scripture, CONVICTION OF SIN, pointing us to Jesus Christ...not howling, writhing, uncontrolled movements, weird laughing, etc. That is so disgusting and disturbing. My late uncle got a Pentecostal preaching "certificate" through the mail, and I had to distance myself from him because he kept trying to "impart" the "gift" of tongues to me and laying hands on me...until his death. I loved him, but he was so delusional. He had 3 failed marriages, lost all of his wealth, his medical license, his home, his health. It was a disaster zone.

I have noticed that high/hyper Calvinists and hypo-Calvinists (3-4 point where I would fall in) too tend to be sounder and more consistent in their affirmation of justification by faith alone than what has become mainline systematic Calvinism. This cuts into the Lordship/Free Grace debate with those who are Calvinist on the Free Grace side mostly being hypos or high/hypers.Seems to centre around preferring preservation to perseverance of the saints. Not many these days would follow the more mainline 5 point Calvinism of the Marrow Men that comes close to what hypos hold. The hypos are largely dispensational and the high/hypers covenantal.

You say he's above reproach but his testimony confirms he's teaching doctrines of demons. That may sound harsh but the Bible says if one comes to you with ANOTHER Gospel...... And... To make sure you all know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're NOT regenerated prior to Salvation but You're Saved first then Regenerated. Calvinism is heresy and that's what JP teaches but no one who follows Calvinism knows that bc instead of reading The actual Word of God to open your eyes to the deception of Calvinism, you all just keep engaging in circular reasoning whereby you read each other's gnostic gospel messages and commentary on said gnostic gospels.

  • @PamalaNEW

There's nowhere in the Bible that says the gift of tongues will cease just as there is no where in the Bible that says any of the gifts will cease. Justin is preaching a Gnostic Gospel. It's such a common thing for religious minded people to get caught up in their own ego instead of preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ they start preaching their own salvation experience. The gift of tongues was not meant for everyone the Bible even says that some will have it and some will have another gift and some will have yet another gift so the gifts were never meant to be manifest in one person they were meant to be for the entire body of Christ which is made up of people from all branches of true faith. The Reformation is not mentioned in the Bible and the only purpose of the Reformation was for God to keep his promise that he would preserve his word. The entire purpose of the Reformation was for God's word to be pinned on paper in a book and that's exactly what came out of that but during that time demons were very active and they started a whole bunch of new religion that branched off of Catholicism some of that was the Protestants and then you had people like John Calvin! Justin Peters is a cult member of John Calvin's Doctrine which is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus said he does not share his glory with any and if you'll notice every single cult has one thing in common and that is that their founder is not Jesus Christ. The gift of tongues did not fade away and God is not the author of confusion if God meant for tongues to cease he would have specified that. Justin needs for the tongues gift not to be in operation because Justin supports the cult doctrine of Calvinism and John Calvin taught that the gifts had seized and the reason he did that was because he wanted to present his calvinist version of the Gospel.

How can a lecturer not know when "Hyper-Calvinism" became a term (33:10)? So, this lecturer is a non-expert, since the development of that terms is key to the development of Hyper-Calvinism. The answer to that is in a whole chapter later in Toon's book (The Emergence of Hyper-Calvinism, 2011, Wipf and Stock publishers). It's easy to reject Hyper-Calvinism if you focus on theologians (men), not Scripture (GOD), as this lecture does. But not if you read Scripture. Lectures like this only can be given if one ignores significant parts of Scripture (see my other comment).

Why don't you cite any verses to back up the anti-Hyper-Calvinist claims? Where are the verses that command sinners to believe? Mark 4.12 contradicts that, and is a pure Hyper-Calvinist verse. I was surprised how in your lecture, you talk a lot about theologians, but verses are not being quoted. The words of men are lies (Ps 116.11, Rom 3.4), so we need to rely on Scripture, not men, and Scripture is Hyper-Calvinist. Your lecture is Arminian, you place responsibility on humans (25:10), wherein GOD would not be all-powerful. Very simple. Only Hyper-Calvinism respects GOD's fully sovereignty. Free will is heresy and works-based Arminianism.
