    For future people, to get the app to work you need to turn cell data off.

    I hope you're active enough to see this before my legs and desk top arrive, the legs have 9mm mounting holes, the manufacturer recommends going 1 size down to ensure the bolt fits through that hole. So my question would be what size of insert do i order, an m8? does that 8 refer to the inner diameter or the outer diameter? I'm so confused.

    Thank you for the detailed review! You are still basically the only source of information for this machine on the internet a whole year later! I'm very much on the fence about purchasing this for my garage shop use. I noticed the app had an update 3 months ago at least for the iphone platform. Have you had any success with this most recent update? I don't personally need the app and am ok with just starting the robot manually but I am curious if the app provides firmware updates to the robot to improve its reliability? Does the robot handle fine dust from your woodworking tools without clogging the filters and losing all suction too quickly? I plan to use it exclusively for keeping the floors as dust-free as possible. Would you make this purchase again today after living with it for the last year?

    I haven't tried the app again. The sensors have started to give me a hard time on our shiny-ish floor. I believe it's from the reflection. A version of this a little more robust- fewer sensors and more filter capacity would be better IMO. I believe they have launched a new one now I'm not sure if they've fixed any of this!

    Great job with the video. I purchased a Roborock Q5+ for a retail store and it failed miserably. Hoping to find a more robust commerical solution. The Roborock failed me because of the LIDAR. Lidar doesn't work with mirrors and mirror/glass surfaces. It can even creates phantom rooms. I noticed that this comes with LiDAR also, Did you encounter any issues with it? I feel like buying it and trying it but returning it would be such a hassle.

    No issues with the Lidar part for us. We notice the shiny part of our floors sometimes gives us issues with the cliff sensor. We don't have any mirrors or shiny surfaces around that the top sensor would see so I can't really comment on it for you.

    Hell yeah, thank you for this video, man! Great stuff, I haven't really messed with bolts or inserts much so knowing what to use and what threading sizes to use really stumps me everytime I want to use them, I end up giving up and just using some deck screws haha. You cleared up my confusion really easily thank you for that, My legs are just about as thick as yours, I think, Idk, looks like it's about 3 inch thick from the camera but maybe my eyes are shit haha. so I'm thinking if I go with the M5 and see how it goes, then go from there that'll be a good base to go off of to see what bolts can handle the legs, I'm dealing with 4x4 inch high carbon A2 steel for the legs, Doing an X pattern for the legs position that's where I get a little confused on what bolts/inserts might be able to handle that angle of tension with how heavy it all is. The legs alone are about 140+pounds and the table is a long rectangular Black Walnut slab that's well over 350-400 pounds. What kinda threads would you recommend for that? I was thinking I should probably start with M10 and see how that goes

    Hello, we have an area of 15000 sqr meters. But we don't have rooms with open space. In this case, we will need to use more than one robot, then we will use temporary separators to do the mapping. But I am worried that since it is not a very smart device, when we remove the separators, will it work within those limits or will it move to the next area saying there is no wall? Can we draw boundaries like robot vacuum cleaners at home?

    I got one and think it’s far better. Than the original. The remote control feature is cool. The app however didn’t work because Amazon likes to sell used products so whoever had it prior changed the password. I reordered it somewhere else and returned it to Amazon. The green brush seems to work better on higher pile carpet and leaves stripes like my Walker Mower.

  • @FractalDesignsInc

    In my opinion yes. For the time it takes to mess around picking something up manually controlling it I could have grabbed my shop vac and cleaned it up. For daily cleaning of minor messes and such it does do quite well. Gets around everything nice and tight which is great.

    It’s very large, would this be useful in a medium size home?

  • @FractalDesignsInc
    @FractalDesignsInc Жыл бұрын

    I don't think a home would be the best fit for this vac. I think it thrives in an industrial environment. I think it would do a good job, it is just quite large, and no docking station like a lot of the competition for homes so it would require a lot of daily hands-on.

    Congrats on being the first review of this I could find. It would be nice to know how it works in a garage environment. Will it scratch up my sports cars, for example? Is it good with wet leaves and pebbles dropped in by car tires?

  • @FractalDesignsInc
    @FractalDesignsInc Жыл бұрын

    If it was me, I would definitely add some foam tape onto the bumpers - it rams pretty well if the sensors are dusty... Small rocks should get... Anything bigger than a penny likely not. It works pretty awesome but has its limitations. I haven't used it for any wet leaves. Small dust and debris it's awesome.

    It’s by no means loud. When he bumps into something aggressively it’s more loud then when it’s running. Little louder then my home Roomba if that makes sense! I have no problem working or maintaining conversation while he’s working.

    Thanks for doing this video! Did you ever get the app running and what do you think of this vacuum after a few weeks of use now? We have been looking at this for a long time for our Cnc shop but want to make sure we can get the mapping figured out in the app.

  • @FractalDesignsInc
    @FractalDesignsInc Жыл бұрын

    Hey! I never got the app to work, I will give it a go before we upload our couple-month review. I do believe you can set up the mapping with the remote still. We find it's still best to pick up most CNC debris with a shop vac and then allow the robot vac to do the shop and pick up whatever was trekked around! Cheers, Brad
