Does the Bible really teach a dual nature of Christ? Notice that he did his miracles by the Father dwelling in him and he dwelling in the Father? So his miracles did not come from his divine attributes. It seems more likely that those were left behind in the Incarnation, in the Kenosis. So he was still deity always by his divine identity as the Logos. That Logos spirit was transformed into a man's spirit, but his identity stayed the same. This idea of two natures is really Nestorian and gives us a hybrid Jesus, but that is not what the Scripture shows us. Notice this text, Acts 10:38, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." God the Father did his work by the Holy Spirit in Jesus. Amen?

Mike, Thanks for your patience regarding a response. Your question was passed along to Pastor Stuckey since your comment dealt with his sermon topic. Due to the number of pages in Pastor Stuckey's response, we uploaded a PDF file to Google Docs so it would be easier to share. @@CommBible Thank you. It was a good paper. But left me with many questions. He is saying that the Logos "removed expressions of deity", in other words, he hid them or didn't access them. Can God still be God if he removes expressions of deity? How does that work? But it is clear he went through a real fundamental change in nature. For example, God cannot be tempted by evil. Yet Jesus was. So he removed the expression of deity that does not allow God to be tempted? That is not an expression, but an actual characteristic of his essence. See the problem? There are many other issues, like where Jesus said his Father is greater than he, or as the Father has life in himself he granted that the Son also has life in himself, and He said he lives because of the Father. So it goes deeper than expressions of deity.

This man has so much love and compassion in his teaching and has answered a question about Tartius that nobody else seems to be asking, either because they have just swept through the chapter otherwise they ad e quite happy to listen to what they have been told and not take any further notice. I really want and to hear more of his teachings.

A fantastic presentation of the thoughts of Elihu. Showing that he was closer to explaining the mystery and the power of the Almighty. This is perhaps why he escaped the wrath of God and no sacrifice was required by Job to be offered on his behalf. He was closer to understanding the purposes of the Lord than the elder friends.

The serpent in Genesis slithered onto the tree to deceive and brought the curse of death on man and itself, its seed abd that of man. The snake was reminiscent of how man fell to the point of murmuring against God, and the only way to be redeemed was for man to carry the curse and the ultimate redemption. Jesus Christ on the tree, the cross of Calvary was made a curse for man, as the seed of man, to redeem man, by becoming a curse for man, to make the promise of God for man and his seed, through Abraham, and the Seed of Abraham, to ransome, redeem, restore, and reconcile man with God, thus, getting man back to his original state in Eden, by His death, burial and resurrection, ascension to heaven, and returning to take up obedient ones with Him, and prepare them for the ultimate restoration into their original status during the Millennium reign, then judgment and renewal of heaven and earth, when the new Jerusalem will be brought down to the earth, and God finally gets to live in the midst of His people as their Emmanuel! He now has His wish fulfilled! He fellowshiped with man in the garden, the fellowship was broken, now it is restored- that is the simple story of God and man!

Doesn't sound that simple. Your explanation sounds very complicated to me. To me it makes more sense that Moses would have raised up an image of a lamb rather than a snake.

I bind to work heartily as for the Lord for myself, my friends, family, colleagues, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ according to colossians 3:23, 2 corinthians 6:14-15, matthew 6:24, 1 john 3:10 , declaring the work I will be doing from now on serves God almigthy first and not the lower heartwishes of men, so help me God almigthy, while loosening myself and the body of Christ from being unequally yoked with and have any common share with any evildoer serving satan in working heartily as for the Lord, loosening oneself of all that does not work with all of one's heart as to the almighty Lord, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ: amen!

Demons know who Jesus is, they asked him not to torment him before their time & called him the Son of God. - Matt 8:29 The dragon gives the beast his power. - Revelation 13:4 That army in Revelation 9:16 is supernatural / demonic. Then Jesus has an inumerable amount of powerful angels, who already beat the dragon and his angels once & threw them out of heaven - Revelation 12 This battle will be over in 2 seconds.

Because, He is all of it. It is deep. He is all there is. He is the alpha and the omega....the beginning and the end. <------- What are these....they are opposites. God created man and woman in his image. He pulled female out of male. They are opposites and both reflect the image of God. David wrote if he make his bed in Heaven and God is there....if he made his bed in hell....behold He is there too. God is a consuming fire....but he has a voice of many waters. Fire and water are opposites. God is all of it. He created Heaven....but He also created Hell. He created sun but God became one of His creation and became the Son of man for redemption. In Jesus God became something he was not which is man. So you have the Creator becoming something he created. Its deep. I know this hard to grasp....but God is trying to teach us something.. And I think in all basics is how choosing to obey him and follow his plan will lead to life and diverting from it will lead to death. So the similarities this pastor speak of in this video are sound.

This side of Heaven we'll not see "perfection," either in our work places or ourselves - but, we can have peace in the fact that Jesus Christ is perfecting us through our perseverance "to do all things, heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto man." - Colossians 3:23 Are we still going to get impatient or take offense, or feel some slight of what is not being done best, in our opinion, at work - in whatever we do? We're fallen beings in a fallen world - what do you think? But we know that, even if we live 120 years, and suffer immeasurably, have we been crucified, worn a crown of thorns, been whipped and beaten beforehand, ridiculed in front of the masses, and killed through crucifixion? No. Christ did, and he did so that we might have true life in him alone, who - only, is "the way, the truth, and the life, through who alone we can have presence with the Father," - John 14:6. This one life is not all there is; the best is yet to come, and "the joy of the Lord is our strength," - Nehemiah 8:10 "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." - Romans 8:18

I believe the only reason Shimei was still alive was that David was honoring his oath. David's magnanimity wasn't a factor in my opinion due to the fact that the very last words spoken by King David on his death bed were to his son Solomon calling for the death of Shimei. "And remember, you have with you Shimei son of Gera, the Benjamite from Bahurim, who called down bitter curses on me the day I went to Mahanaim. When he came down to meet me at the Jordan, I swore to him by the Lord: ‘I will not put you to death by the sword.’ But now, do not consider him innocent. You are a man of wisdom; you will know what to do to him. Bring his gray head down to the grave in blood.” (1 Kings 2:8-9) However, King Solomon gave Shimei one last chance before ultimately having him killed. Then the king sent for Shimei and said to him, “Build yourself a house in Jerusalem and live there, but do not go anywhere else. The day you leave and cross the Kidron Valley, you can be sure you will die; your blood will be on your own head.” Shimei answered the king, “What you say is good. Your servant will do as my lord the king has said.” And Shimei stayed in Jerusalem for a long time. But three years later, two of Shimei’s slaves ran off to Achish son of Maakah, king of Gath, and Shimei was told, “Your slaves are in Gath.” At this, he saddled his donkey and went to Achish at Gath in search of his slaves. So Shimei went away and brought the slaves back from Gath. When Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had returned, the king summoned Shimei and said to him, “Did I not make you swear by the Lord and warn you, ‘On the day you leave to go anywhere else, you can be sure you will die’? At that time you said to me, ‘What you say is good. I will obey.’ Why then did you not keep your oath to the Lord and obey the command I gave you?” The king also said to Shimei, “You know in your heart all the wrong you did to my father David. Now the Lord will repay you for your wrongdoing. But King Solomon will be blessed, and David’s throne will remain secure before the Lordforever.” Then the king gave the order to Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck Shimei down and he died. The kingdom was now established in Solomon’s hands. (1 Kings 2:36-46) Please forgive me if I have misunderstood, or misrepresented anything. My knowledge and understanding of the Bible is limited, but ever expanding, day by day.
