  Maelstrom worked on Linux since early days. I just wanted to test are there any side effects. And there ain't. Interesting fact: tested CSP, BNH and Open source COAS and none of them worked on Linux. So Jeffrey probably did something with Maelstrom.

  @@pieterboelen2862 I'm planning on moving to Linux after Windows 10 support ends in October 2025. So I already started learning a bit. Seems that Linux Mint and Zorin OS are the best choices for Windows users. There are hundreds of alternative apps to those from Windows, so it's basically the same thing, just smoother and more secure, and nobody collects your data.

  I think the smoke coming out of the cannon when fired could be improved today. It might not be easy, but the smoke seems to go in *every* direction. Which doesn't make sense for a targeted ignition, does it?

  I downloaded GoF 2.5 and cannons dont have sound except smaller ones, i upgraded my black pearl to 20lbs and they dont have sounds

  GoF 2.5 is trash. I suggest you buy Maelstrom engine and play it's mods like Eras II or New Horizons.

  this is different then build 14?...started playing it recently,but still encounter lots of bugs...especially wenn in sea combat,had 4 ships...encountered a big fleet,and halfway battle it crashed...and u cant save in that mode...so much time lost....again!!!even on xbox it crashed after cozumel.....2 many ships maybe?

Yeah not so much anymore😅 besides I live in a country where even 5 dollars is relatively a lot of money. "Support the creators" beach they just copied a game with their mod and made it have more realistic waves and physics. Not even by a whole lot, do they even have rights for copying a game AND having money from it? Thats an equivalent of breaking geneva conventions for disney.

  You mean the green color? I don't know. Maybe got broken somewhere during the porting process.

  @@samiradzovic894 Depending on the severity of the roll angle, it should turn from green to yellow to red to indicate how much trouble you're in. It was my attempt to make storms less boring.

  @@brentjhanowensiao4682 you need to play Hoist the Colours storyline or play Free Play mode and choose Jack Sparrow as your character.

  It depends on the character. Some models have their armour versions, and when you equip the armour, it becomes visible. There are however some models which won't display the armour. But it can be added for all models using Blender.

  Great to see people still playing this. Right now I'm doing a Charles Vane only pirate gameplay. I have like 2m PoE in the bank and a 4ship level 2-3 fleet. Hope more people would appreciate it. Playing a 2019 version of ERAS 2, im lazy to update it hahaha. Cheers mate!

  @@samiradzovic894 For sure, I'll check the server once i come back from work. 2 questions, I bought the Maelstrom Engine in 2019, can i download the newer version of ERAS 2 without having to purchase it again, right? I remember back then it was a only once purchase. The other question is, are savegames compatible? Took me like 45 hours in game to gather a mildly decent fleet and the bank loot to be able to upkeep my gameplay. Even so i still need to go on city plunder and ship robbing to be able to survive without mutiny heheh. Wouldn't like to have to restart my game jsut for an update.

  @@bandongogogo you don't need to purchase anything friend, Maelstrom is long term support once you buy it. So you get all the updates, no need to pay. Enjoy sailing.

  i really wish the malestorm engine thingie was free,its a mod after all,and the original gof 1.2 for age of pirates is dead,this is the closest i could see and get as a content update

  Maelstrom is not a mod. It's a rewritten engine that works on DirectX 9, never crashes and supports all the latest Windows editions. So it's worth every buck.

  @@PiratesAhoyCommunity You know that I have tried many times. I can't force people to use Maelstrom. So I have to do it on my own. Goes slowly, but at least there is progress. I have finally finished the weather system and fixed the day/night transition problem that I had earlier with NH/GOF weather combination. It's working nicely now.

  So I have the game downloaded. installed the engine into the game file (I believe I did this right) by extracting the 64bit directx 9 folder to it. Then I start the game with the launcher. problem is I can't save (it pauses like it's saving but there no file to load after), and my health bar, compass and text are so small you can barely see them much less read them. did I do something wrong with the install? Thanks!
