  hello there proud owners :) I have an Japanese Akita puppy almost 6 months old and I wonder because there is a lot of false info online... He is at the moment 22 kg. on 11th he will be 6 months old from ground to head he is about 60 cm. Is this ok size and weight for this age or he is behind the norm.. I see online info that he has to be about 25-26 kg at this point, and that at fully grown storage he has to be about 60 cm tall but I do not know if this is ground to head or ground to back.... Could you please shed some light on this because it seems that your dog is much talled and probably much heavier....?

  This dog has stoicism written all over him, taking his time analyzing the situation before making a proper move - a silent giant you cannot read, imo a truly formidable and majestic breed. Even the boy, despite his playful nature, shows intrinsic respect by not touching his fur

  I am aware that this is an old video, but does anyone (or OP themself) have any tips or anything to consider when raising a Japanese Akita? I have never owned a dog before (I've been around them, but I was a cat person throughout my childhood & teenagedom. I honestly have more experience with horses than I do dogs), but I've been wanting to get an Akita Inu in the future. It isn't any time soon, but something I'd like in the future eventually - this also gives me time to prepare.
