    I purposefully bought a 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs. I wanted the tried and true Reliable and Durable Naturally Aspirated 3.5L V6. I’ve added the OTT and a cold air intake. My TRD now has 318 horsepower and 295 lbs ft of torque at 2,300 RPM. We were wanting to wait until 26-28 of the redesigned Tacoma until I found out that Toyota was dropping the N/A V6 and installing the 4cyl Turbo. At my age and the low mileage I drive each year, my 23 TRD will be the Last truck I’ll ever have to buy.

    You say there's $10K worth of upgrades. Do you really believe their cost is 10K more? If so, you need to learn something about manufacturing and buying in bulk. Next, you say no big deal it's made in Mexico. They pay the Mexicans an equivalent of $2.80 an hour and jump the cost up about 15K on the TRD Pro. On average, the line is about 10K up. So they cheat the Mexicans, they stole American jobs and you brag about how its worth it.

    I think from your comments, you will have this thing gone before the 3 yr/36,000 mile warranty period is gone. It being a 4 banger with the turbos on it will prove to not be reliable so you will shed this before the warranty period.

    I picked up my Sport Premium 5 days ago . LOVE IT. Yeah, it was 55k, worth every penny . I pretty much agree with you on all of the kudos, and zonks. These are awesome trucks. All of the whiners can whine all they want. I have a 3rd gen that I will keep. Addressing the hybrid. I owned a 21 Lincoln Aviator with the hybrid. All the government folks want everyone to go EV or hybrid . What they don’t tell you is that when you go to register the vehicle , they add a surcharge to the annual renewal . The surcharge on my Lincoln was $90. The surcharge is because you don’t pay the tax at the pump because of the electric motor. That just flat made me mad. I am a 100% disabled Vet and my tags are supposed to cost me $6/year. When I saw the surcharge I just lost it. That plus the average life expectancy of a EV/hybrid battery is around 4-6 years . When you go to replace it you have to pretty much buy a new vehicle . You do what you feel is best. Yes the hybrid ups your horsepower and torque , a lot, but the surcharge was a surprise.

    Agree with all sentiments except the life expectancy of EV / Hybrid batteries. Where do you get 4-6 years from? Most 1st gen Tesla Model S's are still on the road 12+ years later. Ford warranty's the battery on the Lightning to 8 years or 100,00o miles, and that's just the warranty period. They should go well beyond that, at least I hope so.

    @@mattheinbaugh46 It’s cool that the 4th gen werks for you. I went in when I test drove a 4th gen Tacoma trd off-road (premium packaged) with the optimistic mindset of considering trading my “paid for” 2022 trd pro Tacoma for the re-design however other than the low end torque, I felt it was no more powerful than my current 2GR-FKS engine and also unfortunately noticed how cheap the interior plastics were and overall, how hurried and rushed the appearance of the truck felt. Hard to quantify how much the new engine, transmission, suspension, rear disc brakes and safety sense 3.0 is per new Tacoma. If you haven't experienced them you will only think of the visible differences. I think when someone hears the price and automatically proclaims it is too much more is misinformed. Buy it or don't buy it but don't act like it is the same truck with only cosmetic differences. • @mknervy
    @mknervyАй бұрын

    @planoman0935 their is definitely a difference between the two and it all does boil down to a persons expectations out of the truck. It is a better all out truck, lots of better features, and design, it's well thought out. Also technology is advancing, id rather a 4 cylinder turbo over electric at least, the smaller engines are going to only get more reliale with turbos, and no one better to make the most reliable one than toyota, so if it needs to take a year or 2 or 3 to get things dialed in, then so be it. Each brand mid size lacks something, so dependong on what you want out the truck its what you'll go for. Sadly rn price and interest rates are just inflated and that is something that no one is happy about on all ends sadly this is what orices are now. Crazy. Maybe it gets better who knows
