Why is the world would your mother have sent you to Russia, being from the United States. What an experience though. So fortunate to have that opportunity to learn.

I’ve visited 5 times and my 13 year okd grandson wants to go back! Today I read parts of the exhibition book and learned how the collectors began acquiring and caretaking the artifacts. So neat that they used real art in the lobbies of their buildings in Dallas. I contacted a friend there tiday who said she’s been to their museum in Dallas. A big thank you to the Barbieri-Muellers for sharing this beautiful collection with us!

Once stayed in new England for two years when i was in my late 20s, since then keep contemplating the atmosphere of America until I came across Edward Hopper's art. Now this anti-hygge gives me intriguing perspective to see through (stare back) those years in early 90s. Thanks..

I don't usually listen to this kind of music, but I saw tommy emmanuel live a couple days a go and it was one of the most enjoyable and entertaining shows I have ever seen

met him after his ''Stained Radiance'' show at Eddie's Attic w Norton. A wonderful gent, and he absolutely slays the guitar. That particular show changed my life. I've seen him w Wilco several times, and he never disappoints. I get a lot of inspiration from Nels, he's a Wizard.

Wow, you and your students are so talented! I love seeing other artist’s work. My favorite were the four portrait pieces you called assemblage. I am sorry I forgot the artist’s name. The use of materials was outstanding! Also the piece with the insects was fascinating. What kind of glue do you need for that? PVA?

What is Egypt and Kush? I think you mean Egypt and SUDAN. Nice try to twist things, your viewers now think that Kush is IN Egypt but it's actually in SUDAN. I will dislike the video for misinformation

The presenter should have put down his foot. The only think I could see at the opening is the bottom his shoe. And the camera showed Nels' face out of focus for much of the interview. Apart from that, I can't get enough of Nels' music and wisdom. A true innovator like very very few.

He is right in the sense that Sargent wants to make his painting look spontaneously effortless which alludes to a sense of elegance and mastery that is associated with power. He might not intended to paint about colonialism but I understand his view point about the depiction of effortless mastery. I don't think he was comparing his work in an exact visual sense but there is an intersect when it comes to elegance and beauty.

Thank you to all involved with the behind-the-scenes video of the conservation work at the VMFA. The story of the conservation work is fascinating and the video itself was so well done. Like thousands of other members, I love the VMFA. This video will add to my experience, understanding a little more of the museum’s story and seeing the dedicated and talented people that support the work. Timothy H. Wright, VMFA member and retired photographer.
