BZ Travel

We are Zarko and Tressa, retired “US Expats” living full time in Burgas, Bulgaria.

After retirement we chose to relocate to Burgas, a beautiful city on the Black Sea Coast. Here, we are living the European Lifestyle with parks, bike lanes, coffee shops, nice beach and wonderful people. This prime location, located close to Istanbul Turkey, allows us to easily travel to any European Destination as well as anywhere in the world.

We have a passion for travel to explore new cities and discover “off the beaten path” locations. Our desire to continuously learn about new cultures and experience new things takes us to near and far destinations.

The more we traveled we realized it was easy to forget the details of past destinations, so we took up photography and videography. We have a lot of information to share with other retired like-minded explorers. We enjoy comfortable accommodations, great food and a nice glass of wine.

Get out there are see the world. There is “no time to waste.”

How lovely to see your happiness at being back home in Europe! From all the places you've been, it is different isn't it? Even the French or other dependencies in the South pacific and Indian Ocean didn't quite have it. What a trip you are having - I think back to the early days in South America - how far you've come and it's been fabulous to accompany you. Can't wait to see your take on familar territory for me - I'm English and have holidayed in the med often. Look forward to seeing you in a little slice of Britain in Gibraltar -

I have friends that live in Europe and have for about ten years. I’m in the US and they say the same things about loving the European lifestyle. I had considered joining them but then Covid happened. Kinda derailed everything. But I’m envious of their freedom they have and the ease of life, so much less stress.

I found the tiled walls in that fortress really interesting so of course had to spend a little time Googling more about them. They are Portuguese & tell the story of the history of Angola. On another sadder note the corruption is awful. Thank you for talking about it. Your videos are a really informative travelogue.

This was hard to watch. Probably even harder to experience. Part of me thinks it's understandable that the vendors were aggressive - they are desperate to support their families. Except, then I wonder what that desperation will cause them to do. Thank you for being willing to go and share your experience. If only there was some oversight / organization they would probably get more tourist $. Maybe they'll see that they are scaring off the very people they need to do business with, and they'll decide to work together. It looks like that's what they've done in the Caribbean.

Now come and tell all this shit about our country, what is it for ? Increase your views ? Make you feel more important ? Okay, we are poor but proud and live with it with dignity, if you can't accommodate it so stay at home or go to France that's all. I didn't like your vlog about our country at all and refrain from coming back please !

Another interesting video. I didn't realise that Senegal was such a poor country. It's so unpleasant to be so intimidated by the vendors that made you feel unsafe. We had a similar experience in Jamaica. You'll definitely be fine in Tenerife!

Sadly many African's live in poverty because of corruption and the often 'unfair' monopolisation of natural resources. Whether that applies to Senegal, I don't know, but given that Africa is a source of diamonds, gold, other precious metals, gemstones and ores, as well as oil and gas, it's criminal that those natural resources don't provide for the people as let's say, the North Sea oilfields benefit the people of Norway under the Sovereign Wealth Fund. You only have to look at Zimbabwe - as Rhodesia, it was the 'breadbasket' of Africa with flourishing agriculture and industry; under corrupt local rule, it's now the basketcase of Africa after the locals murdered many of the white farming familes - now they starve. I'm looking forward to your trek northwards and the Canary islands are lovely!

I live in Kagoshima. It's interesting to see a tourist point of view. A few things: - you pay for the ferry on the Sakurajima side no matter which way you travel. I'm sure that you figured that out - Sakurajima doesn't really have hiking trails. It has walking paths that are near the water. There is a "no entry" zone around the volcano. - people use umbrellas for rain... and sun because it gets very hot and humid in summer. If it ashes then they might use them for that. Winds bring ash into the city in summer. - Tenmonkan is a nice area to walk around. It's just a shopping area but it's compact and easy to walk around. - the "cakes" had bean paste in them - you are right. Kagoshima isnt a huge tourist city. There are things to do but it's no Kyoto or Tokyo where there care dozens of cool things to do It looks like you had OK weather. We had some terrible weather in May.
