Real life stories of tragedies and catastrophes on the high seas. Documentaries on well known and perhaps more obscure disasters that befell the brave men and women that brave the treacherous waters of the world.
Excellent video as always! And yes, The Terror is a wonderfully creepy show, amazing actors and setting. It's on the same level as Rome and Chernobyl.

Interesting fact! Isaac Clark, the engineer on the ship that answered Ishimura’s distress call, was actually on Titan Station receiving treatment when the outbreak happened there. Poor guy!

Always believed like the book Gales of November, the Fitz slammed down on Carabou shoal and cracked her bottom. Water was pouring into the giant hold and she slowly lost boyancy and the 3 sisters came along running down sea , lifting her stern and pushing her nose down in a fatal dive. No distress signal. The worst thing is so close to the safety of Whitefish Bay-

People tend to forget, but that 3km long racetrack is necessary for both morale and training purposes. You've seen how slippery those warthogs can be to control for someone as strong as a spartan, imagine how much training your average marine needs to drive one.

It's not easy to say anything. I don't have a clue. I have seen many documentaries on this explosion, mostly from the viewpoint of the Halifax residents. I don't know that I'd have waited for launching boats. I'd have jumped ship. 😢

You don't use French pronunciation for Stella Maris. I believe it is Latin and the s at the end of Maris is sounded. Stella Marisss, (I emphasize) means Star of the Sea. Many coastal town churches, and ships, have been named Stella Maris. ❤ I've always been partial to the name.

Liquefaction. Water got into the cargo hold via the lost vent hole covers and maybe a few hatches. Rough seas mixed the Taconite and water, turning it into 26,000 tons of fluid in the cargo hold. Big wave: Big Fitz sinks due to Liquefaction. Interesting fact: My Dad welded on the Edmund Fitzgerald when she was dry docked in Marinette WI.
