    I'm a fan of buying ebay, manufacurer refurbished items. I just bought the Firman WFO3242 . It was the sevond Firman I've bought this way. Of all the ebay, manufacturer refurbished items I've bought this was the only one that actually looked used. All other irems havevlooked unused. None the less, it starts right up and runs as it should. FWIW: I intendbto only ever run this one on propane.

    If its cold outside this is not accurate. Didnt you run the heater to get it there? Just turning the furnace off would do a lot.

    I would agree. These are good generators. I've got an Igen2200 and an Igen4500. I use the Igen2200 to save on fuel costs when my load needs aren't as high. The Igen4500 remote start is nice but the pull crank on the Igen2200 isn't bad. I justify the walking out to the generator as exercise so I can have another beer guilt free. Now the 11 before that guilt free one we won't talk about. I just wish the Igen2200 had a built in hour meter like the Igen2500 or Igen4500. I installed an inductive hour meter so that I could maintain the 50 hr run time oil change schedule. I bought a fuel extender tank for the Igen2200 but have yet to use it, but it's there if I ever have the need. I would recommend that people follow the break in procedures and vary the load and keep loads under 50% during that period. Followed by an oil change to flush any metal glitter out during the break in.

    Sorry. One more question😝 So you just mounted it on your ceiling instead of a wall and that worked with the unit mounted on front of your trailer? We have a Class C with two slides and the only place this could be mounted is the ceiling. Maybe it’s not on the ceiling but it looks like it. Thank you

  • @theconnectedcamper
    @theconnectedcamper18 күн бұрын

    It isn’t attached to the ceiling, rather I took a cabinet door off and mounted it where the cabinet door would have been affixed. These units wouldn’t be able to be mounted to the ceiling to my knowledge.

    I have the same model generator. We normally only use propane. Last summer I tested the night before but battery inside generator was dead. Charged battery for two hours using Firmans included charger. This past winter (we are in Boise Idaho) I kept charger going until May, off and on. Disconnected and tried it a few days later, and started great on propane. About ten days later, we took it on boondock camping trip. Would not start. Drove it out to phone coverage area, talked with Firman. and tried several things.Verify procedure, replace spark plug. Finally bought gallon of gas and went back to campsite. Started right up on gas with pull cord. Ran through that. When it shut off, I chose to try propane again.worked fine. At home firman sent a new battery. Swapped batteries. Old battery read 12.9 volts, new only 12. With new battery, worked great on propane. Old battery had significant crack. ouch. Our generator was a week or so before end of 3 year warranty. They sent battery quickly, free under warranty. They also sent new charger just to be sure, again free. Bought unit at Costco and Costco contacted Firman to confirm purchase date and to help get it fixed up From now on we'll take 1-2 gallons of gas on such trips. I still prefer using propane, but gas as backup is very valuable, since pull starts are fine with gas but not .

    I put in a mini split in our Keystone Mini 17-1/2 foot trailer. We put in a 12,000 BTU mini split. Works great. It will maintain the trailer colder than you want even when it’s 100 degrees outside. I installed a small fan to help distribute the cool air.

    Thanks for the comparison. For all night operation with a smaller unit I would find something with auto switchover between fuels. Start with propane and if that runs out, gasoline is ready to take over. You could also parallel two propane tanks. iapower has several models with these features

    You can use a cover made out vynil used for tents. That's what I used to protect my condenser against rain, dust, sun radiation, etc. at a beach house. Use a rubber sling to hold it in place while traveling. A/C has been operational for over ten years. I painted the condenser's metal housing with marine barnish for corrosion protection.

    Super informative video Thank you for sharing all your data. It's very helpful! I live in Australia, and using your data, I have worked out that it would cost me about $1.60 per hour in Australia to run this great little generator at 50% load. Current price in Australia per liter, for regular unleaded fuel is $2.00 AUD per liter. Northern NSW (4th May 2024) I could then get about 25 hours of power from a standard 20-liter jerry can here in Oz. I have "EGO" Power Equipment batteries, that I could charge using the generator. (One 5Amph batterie could be charged in about 40.00 minutes) I can then use the charged 5 Amp EGO battery and the 240V inverter attachment I have for the EGO batteries, and then have regular 240 Volt power from the batteries, silently all night long, which is perfect! Works out to be potentially around 50 hours of Australian 240 Volt mains power, from a regular 20 Liter Jerry Can. (5.28 USA Gallons) for $26.40 USA/$40.00 AUD. PS: Have subscribed to your channel. 👍

    But if propane costs 3 times as much than gas it just ain't worth it especially at today's costs of fuel now the only thing about propane to me is that it can be stored a long time.

    Does anyone remember the box fan days when you just sat in front of it to cool down? Just condition your body to tolerate temperatures. I don't run the AC unless it's above 80 or if I'm sick. Thanks for the minisplit information though. I didn't even think about that. I just though that an 18000 BTU AC on a small TT was way too much.

    Liquid propane change to vapor propane is dependent on heat transfed via tank. When the tank ices, there is not enough heat transfer to convert liquid propane to vapor propane therefore the gen was starving for fuel near 9 hr mark. In a real application, just change to another tank then alllow first tank to come ambient temperature. Good test. I am wanting a dual fuel. This was very well done. Thanks.
