It all comes down to this: Phil’s ‘groove’ is in his DNA. Other drummers who sat in just don’t have it, although Simon Wright did an admirable job, especially on “Who Made Who”.

Phil’s intro fill lead into the song Stormy Mayday is always my favorite. Such simple intro and I dont see any other beat that is more fit

AC/DC were THE Best most tightest heaviest most Rocking most locked Hardest Hitting Rhythm section i have ever heard live, back in the mid 80s.. for reference they were heavier live than any of the big thrash bands were in the 80s and early 90s when i saw them all in their prime too.. I know people will doubt me but it you weren't there you would not understand..AC/DC in their prime ROCKED!!!

Phil is one of the reasons why i play drums and why I'm an ac/dc because my very first ac/dc album i ever got was back and when i heard hell's bells i was hooked he's my drumming idol and the reason why i play the drums. To quote producer and engineer Mike Frasier when it comes to phil he doesn't want to play his drums he wants to destroy his drums. But guess what the sound of phil destroying his drums is awesome. 😎🤘🤘

The most important piece of AC/DC is not Angus or Malcolm Young, nor Bon Scott or Brian Johnson. It's Phil Rudd. Is it a coincidence that, besides the early years when the band was not yet known, that their worst commercial period was when Phil Rudd was not on the skins? Absolutely not. There are 5 million bands that play the same style as AC/DC, Airbourne being a good recent example, but none can do it like AC/DC. It's because of Phil

I was in a band that played lots of classic rock covers and we included Sin City , Beating Around the Bush , and Love Hungry Man. We'd get so pissed off at our drummer Martin when he'd screw up those songs that he finally said ' Kevin ( our guitarist) , you can play the damned drums for the acdc songs and I'll play guitar' So that's what we did. Kevin understood what made Rudd so good. Martin was great at playing everything from The Who and Cream to Stevie Wonder but he couldn't do Rudd as well as Kev could so he gladly switched.

Rudd is a dumb arrogant RACIST pr@k. Period. Nobody can stand him other than the guys. But that's not friendship anymore, it's just blind STUPID denial. Jeez, what else does he have to do to prove his immense dumbness!!??

Colin Hay of "Men at Work" would be a perfect front man for ACDC reason being he is Bon Scott of ACDC! Not to take anything away from Brian Johnson and Axel Rose!. ACDC fans are in for a shock! Bon Scott is alive and well. He is Colin Hay of "Men at Work" Because is it coincidental that they are both Aussies with Ancestral Roots to Scottland??? " The reason why he wanted out! The long time away on tour from his family and the demands of being on the road was more than he could take! He wanted to make music on his own terms and likewise to go on tour at his own conveinience! The song "Back in Black" was his resignation to move away from the spotlight! The lyrics were his signature resignation and the clue to how he would depart from the Band! "Back in black I hit the Sack! (Bon Scott was referring to how he would be supposedly found dead whlile he was asleep! and leaving the Spotlight by slowly fading to the darkness of returning back to a life of normacy away from the bright lights! "I have got nine lives! (He is referring to how he survived many dangerous events a Bike accident, alcoholisn and how he was going to reinvent himself!) "I have got "Cats eyes" (This is a important clue that he has successfully changed his identity! And the only way you would ever know its him if you ever saw him again is He had this rare "eye condition" that looked like how a Cat looks around because they would operarate independently of each other and moving in different directions! Now some people may say wait a minute they have different Birth dates! This is a common practice when hiding ones true identity together with a change of hairstyles! But I think he still played a active role in the Band with ACDC as a "Ghost Writer" because every song that ACDC sang after Bon Scotts supposed death sounded like he still had his "trait mark signature" on all of ACDC's songs! So its up to Colin Hay of "Men at Work" if he wants to come out "the darkness" of "Back in Black" and back into the Spotlight" again to say to his loyal fans and say to them! "Hey MTF's guess whose back from a "Back in Black" hyatus! And is there any photos of Bon Scott in a Coffin in a funeral service?? And how many photos does Colin Hay have of himself in his earlier years with him and his family??? The same goes for Morgan Freeman who is actually "Jimi Hendrix" and "Lady Gaga" who is actually "Amy Winehouse! And is it coincidental that all three just happen to burst on the Social Scene shortly after the supposed passing of these legendary "Musical Icons????? Can you imagine if all three decided to tour together. And their Band name would be called "Grievance Clean Detox Revival??? Sincerely, Patrick S.N. Iriarte "Nostradamus of the Mariana

Back in the 90's I met Charlie Benante from Anthrax. Had a few beers together and started talking about drummers. I asked him what he thought of Rudd. He said. "Ya know man, no matter how long I'm playing, there's just certain shit from that guy and me or none else can reproduce." Says a lot, right there.

I´m a big AC/DC Fan but I only got albums with Phil on the drums. For me he´s the best drummer in history. His precision is unmatched, his beat is always as powerful as a shot of a gun. A "war machine" of Rock with heart and soul.

Least we forget these guys all had real jobs before (fame). Before binging the soundtrack of our lives if you don't think they have a work ethic you have never been to one of their live shows! They put more than a 40-hour work week in just one show. Been doing it forever and they still give it their all.

It saddens me to realize we are all getting old and time will end this for all of us. I wish someone would make a really good three hour biography movie about these guys and include many live performances and interviews with all of them. They must have one hell of a lot of amazing stories and experiences as a band that has survived over forty years and most of that time with the same members staying or leaving but returning. Malcolms health decline and passing just makes it all the more real that there is an ending to all of this and too soon.
