Food For Thought

Food For Thought

Identical twin brothers Edward and Gordon pass on their knowledge of modern urban homesteading techniques and life skills in their own special way. From breeding rabbits and growing your own food to raising quail and chickens for eggs, to MacGyver type engineering. Urban and rural homesteading, to learning new skills you need and to plan for the unexpected. We are no experts, but we have passion for looking after our families when times get tough.

If something is said to be "food for thought" it is referring to a thought or idea that is worth carefully considering. One should rather meditate on the idea, or carefully "digest" or think about the idea that is being presented. We hope to get you thinking, but please remember that there is no substitute for having fun.

We would love you to come along with us on this adventure.

    Yup. Got a barrel and an olf 2 wheeled barrow frame. Dollies too. The cost of wheelbarrows are insane now, even used and abosed ones. The sides are sturdy enough but found when full like moving gravel the sides bow a bit..I just used a rachet strap to support the sides. Easily moved 2 cubic yards and saved $$$

    Its really upsetting and depressing how you show this video of this beautiful rabbit giving birth to her offspring and knowing that they will not live a long, happy & healthy life but to be slaughtered when they reach a certain weight and age because of the title of your channel. This is more of an advertisement of your facility for your fresh meat production. Also, those cages are so small, not humane, especially for the new borns. It should be padded and cushioned. It'sreally cruel.😢🐰🐇🥕🇺🇸

  • @FoodForThought.
    @FoodForThought.Ай бұрын

    Thank you for your opinion. Obviously you haven't, and won't watch any of my other videos. If you did, you would see that there is no "facility". I am a backyard breeder that is producing food for my family only. I am trying to teach others that have the same mindset, that in hard and troubling time, there is a way to not have their family starve.

She was trying to bite me and growling at me. Amy ideas. She was always so sweet We go other rabbit three months ago and nothing changed with her until now.

    At least your bowls for chickens are protected from wind. I have a similar heated bowl which is outside for birds , it also has the on/off switch and seems to be doing ok. I have tried both a K and H and farm innovators and neither did well past freezing temps. Would ice up if not freeze solid. The manufacters also would not replace those saying they have to be protected from wind or might freeze, yet they advertise down to -20 F. At any rate have high hopes for this one , will update as I get sub freezing temps again in the next few days. My previous farm innovator was iced over at 30 F. birds actually walked on it, I had to manually break up the ice. Will be getting some mid-20s in next few days, we will see. BTW. had no wind on the previous frozen bowls , made no difference.
