    I have been looking at these & wondered why no one used a 120MM fan instead as I use 120mm Delta Fans on everything lol mainly my computers which are 240 CFM fans that run at a max of 60W each & get the job done never needing full speed even when I game. They would be great for something like this.

    I’m thinking about buying but worried the medication won’t last long and it’s really for a long term emergency kit. Would you recommend this for that purpose?

  • @GreatLakesPrepping
    @GreatLakesPreppingКүн бұрын

    These types of kits are basically sold for "just in case" purposes, like an emergency kit. It's true that drugs aren't effective forever, though it's been proven that most types will still be some level of effective long after the marked "use by" date. I personally am a big fan of having one of these kits on hand, whether it's this one or the Jase version.

    FYI. When operating, as the pump evacuates air there is less and less air in the jar that the pump has to push out so there is less load on the motor and it speeds up. When the sound levels off the pump has reached its maximum vacuum and you can shut it off. My knowledge comes from working for a manufacturer of fractional horsepower compressors and vacuum pumps for over 30 years.

    John can I store a pistol in a mykar bag to keep it for a long time?

  • @GreatLakesPrepping
    @GreatLakesPrepping3 күн бұрын

    I don't see why not, though you might also want to throw a couple desiccant packs in there as well. Also, make sure the pistol is freshly cleaned and oiled (oil protects from corrosion).

  • @GreatLakesPrepping

    A smaller battery, like a lithium ion or maybe lithium phosphate would fit in the front hatch. A big one like mine definitely wouldn't.

    How about doing the ammo up in Mylar bags without the oxygen absorbers? The reason I ask is because I have loads of Mylar bags but I've run out of O2 absorbers, and since I'd like to do this as quickly as possible, I'm wondering if the O2 absorbers are absolutely necessary for doing up ammo this way.

  • @GreatLakesPrepping
    @GreatLakesPrepping4 күн бұрын

    I wouldn't think they are absolutely necessary. Keeping moisture away is the most important thing, which the mylar will handle. But it could be argued that if you were aiming to store ammo for years or decades, removing the oxygen just takes out one more ingredient that contributes to corrosion. Since many people store their ammo just in a standard can without any mylar or O2 absorbers, I'm inclined to think it'll work fine.

    If you use smoked neck bones instead of those fatty hocks, there won’t be so much fat. And why use hocks only to discard them? Strip off the fatty rind and take the meat from the bones. It is good.

    I like the way you presented the whole process and the numerous less-then-perfect planning illustrated. We all can easily make all these improvements after watching yours. I do, however, think that if you have a way to isolate the bottom layer of lumber from the wet lawn will stretch the life time of the raised bed by years. Also, I have lined the inside frame with PVC sheets so that no wet soil sees my garden frame, like a personal preference.

    An excellent video to watch. Well done! This gives you a clear picture on how to create your own effective distiller from nothing practically. No need to buy expensive fancy ones out there that are not as efficient as this. Better to make your own for sure! He gives a very practical and scientific approach to creating one of the most efficient distillers I've ever seen. I have wasted money buying a couple and they are not even close to as efficient as this one. I'm going to use the parts I have and modify them to achieve these kinds of results. Highly recommend it to watch this!

    the system i use is a 12v 100ah lifepo4 battery in a case like yours but my dream station cpap has a 12 volt cord so no invertor needed and no invertor loss. i also have a 100 watt solar panel on my car roof and another folding 100 watt solar panel. you only want to run a lead acid battery down to 50% or you will shorten the life of the battery. you can run a lifepo4 battery down 100% with no damage.
