The guns have all long since fallen silent and the men who battled on the islands are passing before our eyes into the halls of history. The flags of both nations hang loosely at their staff, waiting for the next light breeze to be fully unfurled. The burial grounds have been slowly reclaimed with the bodies of the men who fought have been returned home. These men, on both sides, will live on in the memories of the survivors and long into the future for us to recall and remember. If only for a moment in time, standing on the beaches where once was open warfare , there now is the light ocean breezes . The memory of these wonderfully courageous men will be forever known. This is what freedom and liberty look like. The cost is high and yet, it will always be preserveed by those who know its sweet taste. Long may you live gentlemen, long will you be thought of. 9th infantry 7th SF Grp RVN 1972-1975 US Army.

I would say, that the slower versis not bad. It just doesn't fit for the Opening Titles. I also prefer the 1996 Version. One of my favourite Zimmer themes.

So funny story. For the longest time like since i was YOUNG, I had a song in my head. Like a tune that I found so beautiful and moving and pretty. I never knew where it came from or when I had heard it. No lyrics. Just the tune. It bothered me so much bc every now and again I'd hear it in my mind and feel my chest swell with this strained longing and happiness. Like 8 or 9 years ago, my friend jess had a marathon through epcot and Disney and I went down with her. We did all the stuff and the last night we were there we went to epcot for the day and to do the fireworks at night. After the fireworks were done and we were leaving, the song tapestry of nations came on, and specifically the great millennium walk. I literally broke down in tears. It was the song that I had in my head for YEARS. I asked my mom and she told me that we went to epcot when I was around 6yo. Everytime i hear this i feel that same swell of emotions. I really wanted to share that with you guys 🥰

Found this on a whim, and it brought back to many memories. I sent it to my kids (now grown), and every one of them commented on what good memories this evoked. The Millennium Celebration was truly a classic, and Disney outdid themselves at the time. Great music to celebrate the millennium. The hope and optimism was contagious.

This parade/music came from that awesomely weird Epcot era. I love it so much. I listened to this all the time in college to try and keep me awake while I was working on late-night projects. I also listen to it while on the plane to Orlando. The nostalgia is strong with this music.

2000 and 2001 were the best years. I was 10 years old, I got to go to Disney World with my whole extended family and go to most of the parks. I feel like everything back then had more hope in it, like humanity was on the right track, and this music really reflected that. But now I feel like everyone is so much more dismal.

I will always fondly remember sitting on a bench complaining about this parade. "JESUS! It's the SAME damn float! It doesn't END!" I'm like "Dad! Don't you see?! They're encircling the countries, uniting every nation in the same song and dance as we all move together into the new millennium!" I was 11 during this celebration.
