    Mid PTO available? Would you say this is too heavy of a compact tractor to take on mowing a 3.5 acre property for a couple of years (until i afford a zero-turn)

  • @wollerequipment
    @wollerequipmentАй бұрын

    Mid PTO is available, however LS does not have a mid mower for this model. You would have to go with a 3 point finishing mower. They are not terribly heavy and the tires are fairly large, so I think it would be suitable for mowing a large yard.

  • @wollerequipment
    @wollerequipment2 ай бұрын

    This tractor has the same transmission as the 6135 CVT. The transmission is just controlled differently. There are 20 steps programed into the transmission and they are shifted using the bump shift lever. It does not have any of the other constant velocity benefits, but because it is not shifting a series of clutch packs it is the smoothest shifting powershift on the market!

    Do you know why it's re-designed?

  • @wollerequipment
    @wollerequipment3 ай бұрын

    Prior models in this series for the US were the 5110 and the 5120. They were 106hp and 116hp respectively, each also had a Standard and Premium version. They realized that because both of these tractors are close in hp and there were basically 4 options it was hard to order in large quantities for best pricing. So they went to the 5105 (105hp) and the 5125 (125hp) with one version each. At the same time they went through and did a design update for a fresher look and to make sure they had a good balance of features.

I was thoroughly disappointed in it's performance, however I do believe that it can be a little bit faster than digging with a shovel, only because it doesn't get as tired as fast!😂 In all fairness, I run a 360 and 400 series excavators on a daily basis! With that said, I already knew I would be disappointed! Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend this for anyone other than a homeowner who wants to toy around and be a kid again! It just didn't perform!

    Comparing a $200,000 360 to a $5000 property machine? Dude, seriously? Of course you can take 10 times the scoop. I had a pro tear out hundreds of trees and flatten 2 acres in 2 days with a big machine. But be real here... "A little faster than a shovel?" These things are a crap ton faster than a shovel. And it fits in a 3 foot wide space. It works fantastic as a machine to maintain multi-acre property. You can maintain the whole machine with average mechanic skills and parts that cost hundreds, not tens of thousands. It fits in one small corner of a pole barn. I have a similar machine. It trenches lines on demand, fixes berms, grades yard, moves fallen trees, tears out brush, digs out drain ditches, and handles a mile of forest trails. For the cost of 10, 2-day rentals from Home depot, you OWN it to use any time. It's no toy. It's a lot better and more maneuverable than the backhoe for my 40hp tractor and costs thousands less.

  • @wollerequipment
    @wollerequipment5 ай бұрын

    Totally get where you are coming from, we have a 4.5 ton WN mini ex that could bury one of these in 5 minutes! But we also have customers buying little backhoes for their LS Tractors. Again, not the most productive tool out there, but the homeowners seem to love them. A mini ex like this is about the same cost as a backhoe attachment and probably more efficient while freeing up their tractor for other jobs. Everything has it's place!
