I always remembered it this way. llevar - to bring, to carry, to wear tomar - to take I know that it is more nuanced than this, but i found this to be a good start. Ultimately, this is all resolved with more listening and reading because the proper situations for the verbs is revealed by listening to others or reading.

Something I have ran into with Google translate when referring to food with the intention of giving a complement for a meal for example. When I say, “the food is good.” I’m shown, “ la comida es buena.” So I would expect that , “the food was good.” should use “ser” and be, “la comida fue buena.” But Google uses “estuvo” and it shows that the translation is “verified.”
@LearnSpanishWords100Ай бұрын
The difference is that when we say "La comida es buena", it means that it is always good or that you go to that particular restaurant because you consider that it is usually good. When you say La comida estuvo buena, it's because you are talking about one specific day. For example, anoche la comida estuvo buena (not in general). It could also be translated as "la comida era buena" meaning that it used to be good but not anymore.

Hi, I don't think that's a mistake but sometimes teacher don't do it correctly and it doesn't really help. It also depends on the students and their goals. I have students who ask me to correct every single thing and I have students who prefer me to wait until the end. I prefer the last but I adjust to both. Anyway, I am not sure why you are commenting that but I hope you find my videos helpful.

Por ejemplo, I asked what “shop” is, as we work in a truck workshop, and he told me, “taller.” He added how he remembered when his dad would take him to the, “taller de llantas” to get new tires so he associates, “tire shop” with “taller.”So now I can’t forget what “taller” and “llantas” mean.
