    I fished that river with my fly rod back in ‘94

    How was the fishing that day? Looked like there are plenty of good pools to toss flies.

    In Upstate New York has been a rollercoaster of a hunting season. We have had snow several times but it has melted away. Bad year for many hunters. Just not seeing mature bucks. Lot of young bucks.

    Same here minus the snow. Hard for hunters in the northern WI/MN area. Very mild weather. Harvest rates are down. I'll be out in the woods until the end of Dec, then I'll be out on the ice, if it's even thick enough.

    What rod reel are you using?

  • @ThisGreatLandofOurs
    @ThisGreatLandofOurs10 ай бұрын

    I don't know what model reel, but it's a Sage, and the rod is a Sage Foundation. 6 weight setup.

  • @ThisGreatLandofOurs

    Could be. I'm not too good at IDing fish that tiny. My buddy told me that I probably caught creek chubs, not juvenile bass. I don't remember my specific reel model, but it's a Sage, and my rod is a Sage Foundation. 6 weight setup.

    Thanks for sharing. Both times my wife and I visited Custer State Park, we stayed in a Blue Bell cabin. It's such a perfect place. Not sure if you are still there, but I fly fished both times, and I had the best action along the Grace Coolidge walk-in area, starting at the downstream end on 16A.

    CSP is such an awesome place. Unfortunately, I only fished down off the horse trail at Blue Bell. I wish I would've been a little more adventurous and fished some other places. Next time I'm out in CSP, I'll check out the Grace Coolidge area.

    @@ThisGreatLandofOurs I hear ya -- so much to see and never enough time there. I have that section of French Creek on my "to fish" list for next time, along with some creeks outside the park.

    Hey man I’m moving to the Duluth area soon and wondering if you know of any good shore fishing spots in Duluth or superior!?

  • @ThisGreatLandofOurs
    @ThisGreatLandofOurs5 жыл бұрын

    I know of a couple good spots. Check out the McQuade harbor in between Duluth and Two Harbors. Island lake has decent shore spots by the south bridge. If you like fly fishing for trout, there's numerous streams on the north and south shore to explore.
