cerebral narcissism writ upon regional dysfunction, the descent of intellectual hubris into sociopathy by subjects so distastefully entitled they bring the bullingdon club to mind. a distasteful reminder of a reality as callous as the metastasis of an old england into a shallower yet darker new winter. a corrupt hopelessness. when i put the book down i did so with relief and finality.

It's astounding how these American states got away with such blatantly targeting discriminatory practices yet claiming to be democratic. But I guess it wasn't so conspicuous since it was always shrouded in lies and misdirects.

Awsome topic. Definitely busted some seriously flawed myths (photographic memory...I've always doubted that this existed). Your using science and research to prove your points was top notch. You get an A+ for your frank honesty. Harry Lorrayne covered a large number of memory techniques and published them years ago. It is unfortunate that I went through 24 years of education and don't recall anyone in the system recommending these techniques. Fortunately for me, I stumbled on the topic when I started college . I used it to memorize my American History lectures. Our professor had a lot of essay questions on her exam, and I aced it. I have used the techniques to retain important, professionally relevant facts with solid retention and recall. I like your breakdown of the topic. It has cleared up many questions that I have had over the years about memory techniques (especially your comment about revisiting). Some of the memory experts have made ludicrous claims that you will never forget anything once you use their techniques. Thank you so very much for speaking out as an authority who has truly done his research.

looking at Martin's impressive ouvre (and the noticable dropoff in quality towards the end) it becomes evident that the adage is correct: as soon as an artist gets political, their work turns to sh*t, or vice versa

It's a great book: 'Empire of Pain.' The Sacklers: a family of scurrying rats. It is awful and annoying how the Sackler-type corrupt behavior goes on with the powerful in our society. Pat Keefe explains how they control everything including the narrative so well, explaining how it's done- use the same Doctors (for recommendations), use the same Accountants, same Lawyers, own the magazines who print the stories and ads, shroud yourself in secrecy. And, in this case, inject the mice (humans) with whatever they (Sacklers) want, i.e. Valium, OxyContin, and watch the bank account grow. Usually these people get away with it, and are worshipped by the masses, so it's nice to see them get caught at least once in a while. People like the Sacklers aren't our friends.

Oh dear I found Christopher Hitchens very late in life. I didn't know the awful details of all organized religions. I have seen the evils first hand of the worst of humanity. It is the history of the poets ans scribes trying to account for this wonderful gift of life and creation. Then evil steps in against love. I have discovered life and creation are all about and are love. I have discovered that life and creation are about infinite perfection. And those who are evil do not know love and are quite defective just born blind to life's beauty and the perfection of all that is created.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Carol Anderson, I have always wanted to ask a question, but I didn't know who until I watched your videos. Carol, the white man, has met so many other races in our world. Why is it that for the last 600 or 700 years we have met white people? Why are we such an existential threat to them? What is this fear of the black man, and where is it coming from?

The “real” proposal of Carbon Quantitative Easing and the inspiration of the the novel is the work of Dr Delton Chen. It’s credited in Chapter 42 as the “Chen plan” and Carbon QE is eventually adopted by central banks. The real proposal is quite brilliant and more practical as the banks have a minor role of supporting a price floor of the asset. Research Global Carbon Reward for a deeper understanding.

Mr.Carr is correct when he says that internet is a interrupting technology, it doesn't help us to become more imaginative, contemplative, empathetic because it is a source of mere information. Just as T.S .Eliot says that ' we don't have wisdom any more, but only knowledge, and only information rather then true knowledge, we aren't able to pause and go into a thought ful reverie but are over loaded with information. We need to cut back our internet usage.
