Nearly every god in their pantheon requires human sacrifice and one of the Rain gods is by far the worst god of all in any religion. I don't know if I even want to write down what he requires for his ritual for rain. It's atrocious. It's ironic that most movies and even history classes in school paint Cortez as the villain in his conquest against the Aztec (See the Road of El Dorado as an example), but compared to the Aztec, Cortez is a saint.

However, of course, when he's about slit his son's throat, he sees a ram instead and sacrifices it. However, later in the section, god says to offer his son as a burnt offering and Abraham does just that. But an angel stops him at the last minute. Of course there's an error either in the bible itself or the translation because God says to sacrifice his only son Isaac but it's not his only son since he has also Ishmael. In Numbers 31:25-40, God commands Moses' officers to kill every Midianite male and non-virgin female, but keep the virgin females alive for themselves. Except for one in a thousand which were to be given to god. After, um, "examining".. the females, the soldiers found 32,000 virgins, 32 of which were to be sacrificed to god. Judges 11:29-40 tells us in tribute for his victory over the Ammonites... "And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, if thou shalt wihtout fail deliver the children of AMmon into mine hands, Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the Children of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord's and I will offer it up for a burnt offering." And of course the first person Jepthah saw coming from his doors... was his beloved daughter. In devotion to, and in obedience to, his vow to God... Jepthah did in fact sacrifice, and burn his deeply loved daughter to the lord- who, unlike as he had done with Abraham.. did not "cancel the killing and the burnt offering. Probably because she was a woman. There's a ton more I could share, but you get the point. Not to mention that before God destroyed Sodom, Lot basically offered up his daughter to be SA'd to the sodomites. Genesis 19: 8 "look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don't do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof." So basically he's okay with them doing horrible things to his daughters and will gladly toss them to the wolves to protect strangers. Would you do that to your daughters?

When you read the Bible you should not take it as a historical or moral book, but rather the oral tradition of a people that is in constant exodus. Now, as a Christian, I can infer that these texts are not consistent with the behavior of Jesus. Does that mean that the Bible is an unconscious book? No, because it was not conceived as a book, but as a set of oral stories over millennia. that is more correct than what is contradicted. The texts you cite are explanations that the primitive people sought to justify the sacrifice of the lambs, the enmities with enemy peoples (at that time all religions were conceived as nationalist) and you can take all the verses you want out of context, but if not You read the Bible with the life and work of Jesus in mind and in your heart you will write the story you want, because THE BIBLE IS NOT A HISTORICAL BOOK.
