You are right Scott it is smarter to buy 5 $20 million houses than 1 $100 million house, because the one $100 million house is more likely to drop in value than 5 houses, and the buyer pool is bigger for $20 million houses. I will rather have the $100 million house the $100 million penthouse condo. The One mansion, La Fin mansion are the most beautiful mansions. The Cobb street mansion has the best land.

That brutalist architecture just looks so depressing to come home to. It always feels like a vibe you show off but not live in. No matter how much they are, they always remind of the superblocks from Judge Dredd. There’s a realtor on here that sells mansions in LA (his words). He says that those stretch of houses are usually pushed on out of town money or newer LA money. He claims that the beach is subpar and sometimes underwater for most of the day.

My son had squatters move into his house in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. they were gang members. Into drugs and carried guns on their person. He ended up losing his home.

"squatters rights" is not what is happening in cali, squatters rights is when someone lives on a piece of property for multiple years (3-20 in most states when it was still a thing) and then gets evicted, they were created for two reasons, if you built a house on owned land thinking you were "staking a claim" but it was already owned, and later to stop companies from buying up massive lands and using them for nothing at all but investment. Whats happening in cali is mostly a combination of standard renters rights (even if they dont pay they are a renter until you prove it and have the same rights) inability to defend your own home (beyond stand your ground, if you hit a burgler in cali its an assault charge) and massive procedural restrictions on police action (this is why bank evictions have police but normal home owners dont, because the banks have the time and money to get through the red tape)

Evictions in general should be made a lot easier more efficient because many tenants do the same thing and stop paying rent knowing that it will take many months to evict them. Then they go do the same thing with the next rental.

Those houses are a bit pricey for what they are, though the Dallas-Fort Worth area is one of the most expensive places in Texas. Anyways, this subdivision kind of reminds me of a pocket neighborhood, possibly a cohousing one. A pocket neighborhood is a type of development in which multiple small houses or apartments are built on a lot that would ordinarily have only one single family home built on it. Such small developments used to be in quite a few American cities before strict single family zoning became the norm. And cohousing is a living arrangement in which each person or household gets a private suite or cottage/cabin, but shares other facilities, thus it's like having roommates, albeit with more privacy. There's typically a shared kitchen for residents to use, a common dining room (though residents can choose to eat in their suites or cottages if so desired), the main yard is communal (though cottages will sometimes have private small backyards) and can include a community garden, winding pathways between the buildings, and possible recreational facilities that can be anything from a simple recreation room all the way up to full on resort style amenities. Each suite or cottage/cabin has a living room, one or two bedrooms and one or two bathrooms, and may have a kitchenette.
