    Every time I hear the Meris, I'm immediately pleased with the level of clarity it has, but then it just feels lackluster like it is just missing something. While the Bigsky MX doesn't feel like it is missing something without that initial Meris clarity, then just sounds buttery amazing. Just my 2 cents on KZread videos, not playing them in person.

    Dude you have a cool singing voice! You should do more of it. Caspian and mogwai have songs with singing! Could be a cool texture in the band. This pedal is really cool. It sounds like it’d be great in front of a distortion/fuzz for some killer shoegaze tones.

    If the video was just about those moments when the settings was sweet then it would be a minute long. Part of the fun in my opinion is showing the interaction between the different elements of pedals and how they evolve together to find those sweet spots. Thanks for watching and the feedback, I appreciate it

    @@nickreesyt yeah, that was the good thing about your demo! and made me watch it in its entirety without f-forwarding but I wish it was slower then. the secondary functions needed to be used too (like, you engage 'user' position for fade, but never change the actual 'user fade', we don't even get to know what it is) also when we reach sweet spots, it's probably worth spending a bit more time with the setting, and maybe change the synth part a bit but I'm not saying the demo is bad. one of the useful ones for me actually. just think it could be much better, and as there's not enough Onward vids with synths, I probably went too harsh with the original comment take care

    The thermae is such a nice analog delay. The onward is the first chase bliss pedal that does nothing for me. That’s ok though! lol. People seem to like it so I’m probably wrong. At some point ide love to have a mood and thermae. Seems like they’d be a great combo.

  • @nickreesyt

    No is wrong or right man! As with all new releases there’s always hype but it’s what works for you. Personally my locker is a bit empty of synthesis style pedals, microcosm baklengs mode tensor and more have all been and gone and I like the fact this pretty much does that and nothing else (although of course it’s mega deep). I’m really liking it either as a support act in the background along some stereo movement (like in this video) or standalone as a weird little critter

    You can compare clean on 100 amps & get similar sounds. The real test is an amp's natural overdrive clipping & gain structure. The BC like all SS amps sounds unnaturally crispy & compressed as you increase gain. Theyre passable at low volumes but louder they sound limited & extremely present which reduces dynamics.

    I sold mine last year and ive regreted it and im about to head out and pick up one again. granted i dont have an expansive pedalboard to replicate some of its features, in fact i only have a couple of pedals as i am not a guitarist mainly but like to doodle. other people have mentioned it here very well: there is something almost meditative and theraputic about it and i loved playing some lil melodies into it and just living wtithin the ambience

    @@nickreesyt yeah, most conversations are subjective. I asked for a subjective opinion. What is this answer bro :D

  • @nickreesyt
    @nickreesyt15 күн бұрын

    @@tokiboi6777 haha touché. what I mean is, if you don’t value what this pedal does for the cost then yeh it’s too expensive. but it’s like buying a volume pedal for $300. Use the volume pot. Or buying a fifth overdrive or fizz pedal. Plus we all have different amounts of disposable income to spend on these things. So personally no I don’t think it’s expensive for the huge array of stuff this pedal does of which there are loads of great pedals out there showing you that. If you want something in your rig that can take apart and reassemble Inout then this pedal does it as well if not better than anything I’ve played before.

  • @tokiboi6777
    @tokiboi677715 күн бұрын

    @@nickreesyt Ok, for context: I do have a Mood Mk2, a Gen Loss Mk2, a Lossy, a Reverse C, a Microcosm, some pladask elektrisk pedals. I do enjoy the freeze side of the onward a lot, but listening through all these demos I am getting the feeling that is still quite limited and not so musical as some people would like it to be for 470.

  • @nickreesyt
    @nickreesyt15 күн бұрын

  • @kingfishats655

    3 comments: 1. You might be at ease with the bigsky because you used the original so long. 2. You don’t have to do much with the MercuryX to get great sounds. Go to a blank preset, choose a reverb structure using C2 (which is the right knob under the graphics menu), and use the other knobs to adjust sounds without ever getting into anything deeper. The pedal can be so deep it is easy to overlook how to keep it simple. 3. prEditor will be a game changer for MercuryX. It made editing the LVX so easy. I don’t even touch the LVX pedal now-I do everything with prEditor. I can do in 1 minute what took me 10 on the pedal. So easy to review parameters in seconds. I could go on. Not sure if you might have guessed already, but I have made my pick . . .
