    What's your workflow for making backing tracks, do you use melodies as a guide framework? I've noticed that I tend to add too much "interesting" lines, which conflicts with the idea of a backing track. So I started thinking, maybe I should first add a strong placeholder melody, and then mute it in the final stages.

    Hi, I'm not doing anything special. First I play the chords on the piano, then add drums and bass to make the basic. From there it's an experiment every time. I understand very well what you are saying. In my case, if I add too many lines, I use a reverb or delay in the mix stage to make it less noticeable. Even if it's so small that it's barely audible, it can still fill the space. The way you mute the melody in the final makes a lot of sense. Maybe that's the way it should be. Please let me know if you make any more discoveries!

    Sorry, the diagram for E7b9 is wrong. The correct position is 2 frets down. (2 fingers at the 7th fret)

  • @thirdlegstalliano
    @thirdlegstalliano2 күн бұрын

    If that's an E7b9, then it should be at the 6th and 7th fret and not the 8th and 9th

    Sounds like regular soul pop. What makes this "neo" soul?

  • @SamuraiJamTracks
    @SamuraiJamTracks16 күн бұрын

    You probably shouldn't ask me that question. Because the definition of neo-soul itself is vague. Incidentally, this track is not pure soul music, nor is it R&B.

    Súper Bakan el Backing track, solo corregir Gb7#9 es el que suena, no el F7#9 estoy seguro fue un error sólo al colocar el acorde en el fret 7 y no en el octavo Fret 😎cheers 🥂🎼🎸
