2018...any guess at the date...?
Nice video, Like !!!
I think the bittern was designer based on mallard it was painted in blue that look like a streamliner a4 engine
123456 123456 123456. On song!
Hey where`nt the b1s call Bongos just to spite some high rank guy or something😂
name of this song ????????
I love it, reminds of the days when railways were still railways ... and women were still women 😉
Only six A4s were saved for preservation and only one member of the class: 60014 Silver Link was the subject of an unsuccessful preservation attempt by Sir Billy Butlin
60014 Silver Link was not preserved at all after it was withdrawn from service in 1962 when the Class 55 Deltics took the work over on the East Coast Mainline. There was a preservation attempt by Sir Billy Butlin who wanted to preserve Silver Link at his camp but the preservation attempt failed and was unsuccessful due to the Eastern Region not being interested in preserving it
It’s ashamed that none of the four Silver Jubilee engines were preserved for the Great Gathering and the four Silver Jubilee engines were 2509 Silver Link, 2510 Quicksilver, 2511 Silver King and 2512 Silver Fox. Those four A4s look great in their careers and it’s too bad that they’re not preserved for this event.
Lovely bit of film , thanks 👍
0:23 it was actually 5 locos, they’ve missed out 6999 Capel Dewi Hall
Yes, you are quite correct. However we were referring to the Castles specifically in this context.
I’m on this charter this weekend for the 60th anniversary!
I have a oo gauge model of a Scot its a very charismatic looking locomotive running alongside my Patriot both in rebuilt form I also have them in unrebuilt form. They are unique in my collection you realise we are lucky to have 2 examples now doing what they do best.
Utterly exquisite! This is why we love these loco's so much!
She’s so beautiful at speed. Wish Nigel greasly would be allowed over 75 these days. Steam should be allowed faster
UTBt. I used your image on my Twitter site. Angel Mintaka
Are you still making dvd’s? As I’ve not seen anything new for a while
Hi Darren. We might make one more this year and it could well be the last one.
@@OVPRAILWAYS that’s a shame but I understand, I’d always help if I could though
@@OVPRAILWAYS also, do you have any unused footage? I’d happily pay for any and sign an agreement not to share it if you wanted
Thanks. Without actually going through all the material, I am not sure. I know there is quite a bit of stuff, but I would need time to check.
I will probably share it out once I have filtered through it, but again like I said it will take time.
I can’t believe you seem to be the only person there to watch!!
As my favorite steam train is Union Pacifics 844, i have to admit British steam is pure art! Its absolutely beautiful. i always find myself coming back to this video its perfect the music the shots everything is incredibly well done 👍🏾
The sound of the steam locomotive still thrilled me, pushed and flashed my childhood memories back, next station.....❤from India.
With only 2 A4’s left in operational use I now have to find a way to Get a trip to the UK before they retired from service
I went to see this when I was little, and absolutely loved it. Quite a shame that it will probably never happen again.
We never know, we will see what the 100th anniversary brings us
Lost for words..........
I loved the gradual escalation till the last whistle. Bravo director.
Is that starting from Dunster heading towards Minehead on the WSR?
Brilliant! 🤗
Great video I must say
Hot take: Bittern is my favorite a4
Similar to Keisei Skyliner ‼️
A superb vid of a large engine working hard at its train. Clan line has always been a fan favourite and continues to this day. Must admit it’s not when I think of engines working hard, that’s usually on a dark cold winters night, around Christmas time with a steam train bringing people home for Christmas
0:56 I like this shot of Bittern and Gresley Together
Theres no way you can hear anything but "i think i can, i think i can" then transferring into "i knew i could i knew i could"
Wow!!
The great A4 locos a 5rue sight and sound of the lost era
Britten: I FELL YOUNG AGAIN, WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO
Britten, the limit is lifted for you just dont go too fa... Britten: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEST DAY EVER! I FEEL YOUNG AGAIN!
Simply Superb ❗️👍🏻😀
Beautiful shots ❤
Fantastic!
11 bogeys, no banker, and going like the clappers.
Fantastic video - many thanks.
Unforgettable.
Music to my ears!
This thing sounds like an idling diesel
I know many people HATE Thompson but regardless the B1 was a great success and maybe the black 5 of the Eastern Region. I also like the L1 tanks, they were very good looking locos even though they weren't considered as successful as the B1s
Visually stunning,, but Why, oh why...do producers think that "music" soundtracks add anything to the video?
As a child I used to watch the Royal Scot speed through Headstone Lane Station near North Harrow on the LMS. Nostalgia!
This loco is underrated, along with all the other preserved a4s. Union of South Africa and Bittern will always be my favorite british express locomotives. Long live the A4s!
Beeeeautiful, I wish more Castles had survived the cutter's torch
