Found this video. Need help with unit
How do yall drain the water from the tank?????
Good Question, you shut off the inlet water, open the spout till empty then with a carafe under the unit you slowly loosen the solenoid screws to allow water to pass into the carafe. Do this till the tank is empty.
Strange....is the active ingredient actually baking soda? Pretty expensive baking soda! The difference between the bicarbonate in baking soda and the carbonate in concrobium can be removed by heating the baking soda in the oven at 400 degrees, or on the stove, stirring occasionally. The heat will draw out the different elements, makes it look like it's bubbling while it is "evaporating" and what's left is just the sodium carbonate. But both work about the same on mold, from what I have heard.
Very scientific
I was under the impression that you can’t have the vent be next to a window die to carbon monoxide poisoning, and if it was it would have to cleared the top of the roof
you are correct, there are window clearance requirements. I was not near a window.
why didn’t you use duct tape instead of your hand for the shop vac part
I did not think that was necessary and I wanted to be quick.
a hack for sure
Excellent review! Thanks!
PERFECT solution to my issue. Thank you.
Hey Ken, very informative video. I am having. The same issue where the ignitor goes on for about 20 secs then shuts off. I have replaced the thermistor, high temp sensor, flame sensor. My next plan is the coils. Then hire a pro if that doesn't do it. Thoughts?
I assume you never get flame. If that is true the coils are a great next step.
Thanks for sharing this. I can tell you that today’s galvanized metal is sub par compared to what they used to make.
Thanks for making this video. I must have bought really cheap (low quality) hatch struts. While it holds the hatch up steadily, when you go to shut it, it slams shut. (2003 Pontiac Vibe...I bought it brand new)
As a repairman, have you ever opened a compressor to see what actually fails? Quality control is a huge part of junk components in items we purchase. These things SHOULD be checked, reported and dealt with. It's crazy, consumers are guinea pigs to crappy quality control. We pay good money for average life expectancy merchandise. And then they give us 1 or 2 years, warranties, and then end up either throwing away the item prematurely, or paying basically the same price repairing an item as it cost to buy it initially. Makes no sense. Oh and speaking of warrantees. Did you check the warranty on that little fridge? You did say it looked new. Charging the manufacturers by getting free replacement parts, teaches them to produce more time proven products. Thanks
I just had to have a compressor replaced on a 14 month old full size refrigerator. Thankfully, it's under warranty so they fixed it, no charge to me. Cept probably 50 dollars in ruined frozen goods. Because, it took almost 3 weeks, too get it repaired. Insane. I did end up buying a mini fridge but only after much of the frozen goods were mush. My concern is, will the new compressor last 14 months and go bad and I won't have a warranty.
Most likely the new compressor will last 10+ years UNLESS something other than the compressor is killing it. Like poor air flow or a contaminated refrigerant circuit which you have no control over. You have no option but to just run the unit until it fails. is this refrigerator a Samsung?
@@KenTraining Nope, Hisense. Of which I did research before I bought it. Had good publicity. But don't they all. And yes, if the new compressor lasts 10 years, I'll be satisfied. 14 months? Not so much. I understand ventilation is important. The area in which it sits is relatively free flowing. But the last fridge sat in the same spot and ran 12 years,0 problems. 0. Same type of fridge but a Kenmore with an LG compressor. Bottom mount freezer, ice maker. Basically the same as the Hisense. I realize there are lemons in everything we buy. Luckily, the service guy was very good. Changed out the compressor in probably an hour and a half. Vacced the system. Clean solder job, charged it. School trained, 10 years in the biz. Very knowledgeable. But, no matter how good you are. If parts don't last. Makes you look bad. Anyway, thanks for writing back. 👍
By far the best liebert instructional video
Will the bleach rust the pan?
no it will not BUT flush with clean water after your bleach treatment.
Yeah I was trying to do the same thing and this video 📹 halpet me to put my starter rope on my lawn boy push mower know my leaf blower won't start I need help with it
I did all of the video and still the flame go off.
What do you choose to connect with your Bluetooth, on your iPhone? I saw Padear, but it disappeared🤷🏻♀️
Sorry, to long ago and I don't remember.
I just remembered I had the minis Got them a few years ago, & probably used them a couple of times I lost my earphones for my iPhone, & will be using these now. Hopefully they work!
This is a great video. It will help me immensely. Thank you
Thank you so so so much for this ive been trying to get it right forever and i couldnt figure it out
In what position you put the tool to test the thermister ?
Hi, what color gray did you use? Very nice color and job came out great. Thank you.
What size containers do the chemicals come in?
I think they were 5 gallon containers but this was a while ago.
Great video. You say to use a brass cap for a brass pipe but based on the video it looks like a darker pipe isn't necessarily a black iron pipe. I guess if a magnet doesn't stick then it's not iron and brass is the only possibility left?
try the magnet to see what you got. if the magnet does not stick, then you have something other than black iron pipe.

Good morning Mr.Ken I would like to ask you a question about the metal vent pipe for the water heater: why does water drip on where two pipes connected. I appreciate
I want to answer you but I don't understand. are your referring to my video or your house?
@@KenTraining about my house, please.
@@user-tu3rh7ps9c I need to understand "where the 2 pipes connect" what is that location? I need a better description.
@@KenTraining So from the water heater tank up to 3 feet using an elbow installed, then from the elbow and 5 feet long connecting to 6 feet long (total 30 feet through the outside backyard), so between 5 feet and the pipes connected, water drips/ leaks. Is it possible for me to use anything to seal those two pipes? Thanks
@@user-tu3rh7ps9c is the water coming from the flue gases condensing? Can you take an infrared thermometer and note the temperature of the flue pipe upon exit of the water heater and then at the midway point and then at the roof exit. I assume your are running natural gas for the fuel but please confirm this is true.
I loved the video. U saved me some $$! THANK YOU! I do have one question, I'm hoping u can answer. Am I able to lube the clockspring in the recoil? Mine retracts kinda wonky.
I don't see why not. I would try and lube it.
Good information, thank you.
Very through. I Wonder if all that my tub needs is that one tool to tighten it. I won't attermpt it, but maybe plumber doesn't have to charge too much to fix. Thanks.
How has this project held up over the past three years? Any lessons learned?
Held up good. i do get some small weeds in the small cracks but nothing to bad. I use weed killer spray to manage. other than that all good.
Oh, how I wish I had seen this video before! Thank you Ken. Hopefully I will be successful with the next back flow preventer in my garage valve.
You could have taken a piece of pvc with an elbow and attached it to the drain so you'd have horizontal access.
Great great video. I have more rooms than fit in the glass schedule (and other tabs). Much of the workbook is protected. What is the password to unprotect them so I can add more rows. Once again, great great material
ACCA has the password, I do not. I would recommend you save a portion of the house as one file and then the remainder of the house on a second file. then add it all up to get your equipment sizing.
Thank you for your Passionate Educational video. Gonna download it! And share it as well
Dumbest design ever...classic bMW
Great video. I've replaced diverter valves in my house over 30 years. The knob was stripped out along with the stem splines. When I installed the new Danco diverter valve it leaked just like yours does, maybe a bit more when the shower mode is selected. You seemed ok to live with it. Since this video is 3 years old, did you ever fix that or figure out why it's leaking? Thanks!!
I ended up removing the old 3 valve faucet and installing a single handle Moen PosiTemp valve with a Schmidty plate
@@KenTraining Thanks so much for the info. My diverter valve is leaking just like yours was but worse. Someone in the comments of the Danco valve mentioned his O-ring was a bit thin and he put a thicker one on and it took care of his problem. I did the same but it only made it better, not fixed. Now it's leaking like before. I bought a Home Depot home brand Everbuilt diverter valve and plan to give that a try otherwise I'll be doing the same as you did. I also like how you didn't need to turn off the water to replace the diverter valve. The water shutoff valve is from the 60's and sometimes it wants to seep so I tighten the bonnet but if I don't need to shut it off that's even better. Thanks!!
Thank you. We are going to be doing our small house real soon. Thank you this helps a lot.
Buying this today thanks man
Its a great tool.
We have the same system on our water heater and it has begun to beep. The red light blinks three times and I know it says to do something with the valve but not sure what exactly. Can you help?
yes, first question, do you have leak or is this a false alarm?
It’s the valve those things are junk 😂
@@Magasfavoriteson Wow, I thought the quality of the Taco Valves were good.
Your focus was perfect first time. We could see the 40 W before You moved it all around.
Sorry about the camera shake. Did you fix your lights?
@@KenTraining Yes !!! After so long without that light kit working I now have a beautiful stained glass light thing hanging there and a fan that works under it. Thanks for the vid.
Putting yourself in danger, need to find a way to close up the connections.
Thank you for a great video. All the steps are nicely, explained, and easy to understand. I have a question regarding installation of a recirculating pump that doesn’t have an internal check valve and when I already have a water softener. Water softener is installed at the point if entry to house (I have one hose which is before water softener to plant waters). Would it still be all right to install this pump on the water heater or I need to install check wall just after the soft water softener ?
I think you will be fine without the check. if you run into an issue, you can always add a check for low cost.
I love Floetrol. An old French Canadian guy who was mid-60’s when I met him in the late 70’s taught me to use Floetrol. I’ve used it ever since. It is a MUST HAVE.
I love going to a department store and asking the guy, “Hey man, where’s your caulk?”
You were lucky the old cartridge didn't break apart inside.
I know. Yikes
Hi I have an issue with same dryer I already replaced coils, sensors, igniter, and it still doesn’t work properly What it does sometimes on empty dryer is temp goes in a normal range 100-180degrees once we put clothes it stoped heating goes to 100 only and then few minutes after we took clothes out it still not working
did you test the thermistor? That part should be inexpensive to replace. also can you see the flame, like I showed in the video. this will help troubleshoot what is happening during the cycle.
@@KenTraining yes all sensors are new. Igniter new. Flame sensor and coils new as well
@@user-ot2vz6im6q This is tough for me to troubleshoot it without seeing it in action. I can only say that my video was very thorough and you may want to watch it again. If you are still unhappy, you can call in a service tech and try that. Let me know what happens and I do hope you figure it out on your own...
Ken Training, question for you on this video. Just for an example/generally so I know moving forward. When discussing the overhang on the plans it says that it is 12 ft 8 inches long, but when you put it into your spread sheet you put 12.8 FT. 12 ft 8 inches is technically 12.66 ft. Do we need to adjust for the correct decimal value, or does the system read 12.8 ft as 12 ft and 8 inches? If it adjusts for it how would you input and overhang that is 12 ft 10 inches or something of that nature?
Too helpful! Thanks sir!
I think people need to read the directions on the package. I use the Rapid set(CTS) products all the time and they are great! In this case no misting on the patch is only for 70 degrees F and below with no wind.....Above 70F you need to mist it for an hour or so because these products get really hot and will crack without misting to keep cool. and, of course get the surface damp before applying. Also: Rapid set has no portland cement in it nor should you ad Portland. This is calcium sulfoaluminate (CSA) cement. Rapid set also makes small additive packages to slow the setting time of their products if it is too warm outside and you need extra time. They also make flow control packets that are like magic for pouring into forms using their other products.
I need a regulator rebuild kit and no one seems to have it. Victor cutskill portable torches. Oxygen.
