Gandhara is the Cradle of Buddhist philosophy, Culture and past glory. Mahayana Buddhism was formed in Gandhara by the amalgamation of Greek mythology and Buddhist Philosophy. Gandhara was the centre of Buddhist learning and teaching and Buddhism was transported from Gandhara to China, Japan, Tibet, Vietnam, Korea and other countries as well.
Our objective is to save preserve and promote the remains of ancient Monasteries and to advocate with the Government to protect the heritage on priority basis.
Gandhara is the Jewel of Buddhist history and it is our responsibility to explain to the world Buddhist community about the immense importance of Gandhara.
It was part of India however India was divided in 1947 and Gandhara become part of Pakistan and the area remain hidden from the world Buddhist community and also from the rest of India.
Our aim is to focus on Research and to engage national and international universities in the advocacy for protection of Buddhist sites in Pakistan.

Please revive Vajrayana since this is the birth place of Guru Rinpoche. Only stupa but no teachings , where is buddhism, where are the Buddhists? It is equally dead.
Great merits to Ven Fa Xian and Xuan Zang. They took all scriptures back to ancient China , safe from destruction during Muslims War.
Since Guru Rinpoche born in Swat Valley, his teachings must be revive in swat valley to benefits the Buddhists there

Tears welled up in my eyes when I saw the monastery alive with people for whom it was built. It is very well preserved though I missed Buddha statue there.

You are right. The stupa must be inside 4:33 a glass case. It is in good condition. Commentary is also good.
I appreciate Pakistani archeology department in protecting the sculptures. It is difficult to point out d dates of created folk stories pertaining to Haritidevi. Those who revered as godess of protection must have created positively. Those who were anti Buddist must have created negatively.

Burial stupas weren't Indian culture, they were common with the Saka Scythians whom Buddha Siddhartha Gotama was one. Gandhara predated long before Indian invasion and rule.
